How are you angels ;)

Sorry I couldn't update earlier, but I was really busy with midterms. And I just got my spring break, so pretty much I'm spending it with my family.

I hope everyone is having a good week!

Sorry if this one looks like a filler chapter, really I'm sorry, but it had to be there. I want the next chapter to be all about the masquerade. Or next few chapters ;)

Anyways, happy easter!

Love you all so much. Please don't forget to vote and comment. It only takes a few seconds to do so.

Toodles!

Secrets.

Enormous deeds, terrible deaths, sweet memories, or uncertainty can lead us to wrap it all in a few words. Those words, that some call secrets, are the reason behind the chaos in the world. These words are the reason behind the chaos in my life. Rebirthing every month, hardly keeping my wings inside, and walking around pretending to be a normal human used to drain me. Now, with Liam's help, and after eighteen years of practice, I can finally pretend right.

But the moment my eyes traveled to the date of the masquerade, cold sweat cooled down my forehead. I already agreed to attend. What would be the reason behind my refusal to go? I couldn't afford declining quickly, so I just smiled at Sam and turned around to leave.

My transformation is taking place at 10 p.m. The masquerade starts at 9 p.m. I can make it for an hour right?

Who am I kidding? The pain started settling through my system since morning. The more I try to ignore it the more mortifying it gets.

I've been going through this twelve times each year, for eighteen years. And I still get scared every 30 or 31 of each month. Februaries have always been a surprise for me. I either have my wings shock me on 28, rarely 29 or 1 March.

Now, it's different. I already know my mission and I'm drowning in Heaven Bridge all over again. I still don't have any lead on Amy. God, I'm such a failure.

The hotness begins to warm the atmosphere around the living room, and I feel the fire almost eating on my shivering body. I stare at the fireplace and watch the dancing flames grow strong at the bottom, and when they are high enough they disappear, just like my powers.

I hear Liam closing the front door behind him. When he comes closer and sees me lounging on the couch, he holds my legs up, sits down then lays them on his lap.

"How was your day?" He asks me resting his head on the back of the couch.

"Normal." I reply with a faint voice.

"Then why do you look like you had your wings cut off?"

I shiver at his words. I never want that to happen, it would hurt like hell. And God knows where I'd end up, physically and mentally.

"I messed up today." I say still staring at the fireplace.

"Déjà vu." He smiles but soon it disappears when he sees my solemn expression. "What happened?" He adjusts his position to have a better look at me.

"Sam invited me to a masquerade. I agreed without looking at the date." And right now I realize how stupid I was.

"Jules! Tomorrow is 31 October. There are usually masquerades or costume parties for Halloween. Don't tell me-"
