Sam's POV:
She just flew off the roof, under the rain, without a word. And I'm worried. I'm worried sick about her.
Usually earthquakes don't happen in Heaven Bridge, and when it did, something pulled Jules to the roof. When everything calmed down and I was able to climb up there, something changed in the way she looks at me. It felt as if whatever pulled her up, plagued her with terrible news.
I have just learned that my mother's best friend died saving me when mom was giving birth to me. Her name was Jules. And she oddly looked exactly like my girlfriend.
Jules told me the exact story to why she became a white winger. And that only leaves one answer.
Jules saved me.
But she lied to me. She hid the most important truth I needed to know. I am not sure I am able to accept everything happening at once. But now, all I need to focus on, is finding her.
Then, what needs to happen will happen.
I park the car next to the Moon residence and turn the ignition off. Her front door is ajar, even with the rain sneaking inside.
Immediately, I climb out of the car and enter, only to find what I couldn't make myself forget even if I tried.
"Jules," I whisper.
She's kneeling on the ground, her wings resting behind her in a heart shape. There is a corpse in front of her, that only when I step closer, I notice who it is.
Oh no.
"Oh my God, is that Liam?" I say in a faint voice rather wondering than asking her.
She doesn't bother glancing at me, but keeps staring into Liam's closed lids and sobbing silently.
I slowly kneel next to her and take the hand lying over his stomach.
"I'm gonna call 91-"
"It's too late. He's dead." She answers cutting me off with a croaky voice.
"I'm gonna call anyway." I tell her frowning. "Jules, who did this?"
"Revenge," She says her voice barely audible.
"What? Are you serious? Is that a murder?" This is too much to take, but I can't panic now. I need to hold Jules because I know how close she is to Liam. Never in a million years, I thought I'd see a day like this coming.
I don't understand who would be that cruel to kill such a nice man like Liam. And more importantly, how the hell did she know he's dead?
"It is." She responds to the question I even forgot I asked.
She keeps pressing him to her chest, rocking back and forth. Seeing her crying and feeble like this breaks me. It is probably the first time I see Jules crashing down with the seconds. Through the three months in which we've been dating each other, I've never seen her weaken for anyone. Not even me.
"Do you have any idea who did this?" I ask again almost going hysterical, but containing myself for her sake.
"Yes."
