My Guardian Angel Chapter Four
I turned around and saw one of the hottest guys I've ever lain my eyes on. It seemed that he filled the room with his confidence, he obviously caught the attention of all the girls here. Even Sasha had stopped flirting with Jeremy and was gaping at him. He had shiny blond hair that glistened in the sunlight. He was also really tall, maybe even exceeding Jeremy's height which says a lot considering Jeremy's six feet three. But, he was also strong, not creepy strong but just enough to make you shiver with pleasure when you imagine his arms around you. He had a straight nose and full lips that made your heart flutter. What was really captivating though were his eyes. They were the deepest green I have ever seen and were framed by long thick lashes.
The bell rang and soon everyone was scrambling to get into their seats. Except for the new guy, he just stood at the front of the classroom. Soon Mr.Wright walked in ready to begin the day by teaching us about American history and blah blah blah. Yet, when he saw the guy standing in front of the class he looked surprised at first but a look of understanding crossed his face.
Mr.Wright turned to the front of the class and cleared his voice to get every one's attention. "Now class, we have a new arrival to the student body. This is Derek Ravenclaw, I hope that you all treat him well. Welcome to Ketchin High School Mr.Ravenclaw. You can take a seat next to Ms.Grace, dear can you raise your hand to let him know who you are?"
I raised my hand slowly and his gaze shifted to my face. Derek smiled at me flashing his perfectly white teeth. I felt my heart skip a beat and I could feel myself blushing. Which made him smile even more. He walked towards me and I could see that every move he took was confident and graceful. He took the seat to my right while Mr.Wright began teaching the class. I quickly realized I still had my hand up so I dropped my hand back on my desk. Why was I making such a fool of myself around him?
"You know staring's rude," he pointed out. His voice was like velvet, so swift and smooth. I could feel my face turning a cherry red. He chuckled and said, "It's okay. I think it's kind of cute especially when you blush. By the way my name's Derek."
"McKayla," I replied. I looked into his eyes, they were such a beautiful color. Unlike any green I have ever seen in my life. It was as if he could see right through me. They were so unnervingly familiar, it was as if I've seen those eyes before. I tried to concentrate to when, however I felt a flash of pain in my head. It felt as if someone was stabbing me over and over again. I winced in agony and tried to stifle my voice from screaming. I took deep breaths trying to soothe the pain, slowly the pain started to disappear. I was glad to see no one but Jeremy and Derek noticed. Jeremy had a look of confusion in his eyes as if he was asking what was wrong.
I looked toward Derek and saw that his eyes were burning with anguish. Which confused me, we only just met why does he care so much about me. I shrugged it off as human nature, most people didn't like others being in pain. I gave them a shaky smile to show that I was alright. Jeremy reluctantly looked toward the board, while Derek looked at me for a few more seconds before facing the board. Great, now he probably thinks I'm a freak. Wait. Why do I care? I shook it off and before I knew it class was over.
Derek wasn't in any of my other classes. I wasn't sure if I should feel thankful or sad. On one hand I really wanted to see him again, but on the other hand I was embarrassed that he witnessed me freaking out. I was used to having random flashes of pain, but it was always weird when someone was close to me when I did. The first time Jeremy saw me through one of these he flipped out. He would always be worried that I was hurt, he even thought that I might have some weird brain injury or even a brain tumor. And, it was weird because it hasn't happened to me in school before.
Soon it was time for lunch and I was waiting in the lunch line with another of my friends named Aiden. He had dirty blonde hair and light blue eyes. He was barely six feet tall and was apart of the basketball team. I felt like I got along with guys a lot more then I did with girls. Most girls always found a reason to hate me, if it wasn't Aiden or Jeremy it was one of the other guys on the basketball team. If they payed attention though they would be able to tell that I was only friends with all of them. I was like one of the guys to them, except smaller and more feminine. I played basketball for the girls team and practicing with the guys made me have to work harder to keep up with them. So playing with the girls was nothing.
Aiden was talking about his spring vacation and how it was so boring to have to hang out with his family in Texas all week. I grabbed a tray and began piling up food on my plate. By the time I was at the lunch table I had a cheese burger, french fries, an apple and a bottle of water. I wasn't afraid to eat like most girls. Of course I had my issues with my weight when I was younger, basketball kept me in shape. All the guys were already there some with their girlfriends and others searching the lunch room for their next conquest.
"Did you hear about the new guy?" Aiden asked everyone.
"Yeah, I saw him in first period but I haven't seen him since."
"Rumor says that he was talking to Sasha and didn't go to his classes afterwards."
"Wow, that guy works fast."
"No kidding, but it's Sasha. She'd sleep with anything that moves." That got a laugh from the whole table. Woah! What I didn't know that Derek was that kind of guy. It didn't seem like he was.
"Speaking of the devil there she is, you can definitely tell she got laid," Jeremy indicated. I turned around and saw Sasha come in, and like Jeremy said she looked like a mess. Her clothes were wrinkled and her hair was everywhere.
Derek arrived a few minutes after Sasha, but he seemed perfectly fine. Every piece of hair was in place and his clothes were still in good condition. Maybe he didn't have sex with Sasha? I highly doubted it though, they both came back around the same time and Sasha seemed pleased with herself. The same face she uses when she gains a new conquest. I don't know why but it hurt to know that he was with someone else. It was ridiculous because I knew nothing about Derek. I didn't have the right to feel like this. But, at the same time it was as if I've known him my whole life.
