That night, I had planned everything...
How I was going to escape, what I needed and how I was going to leave no trace...
Just silence.

My plan was about to be put into motion, but something stopped me...

"Shadow, come down to the front desk. NOW." The human called from the speakers that they implanted in the walls. I sighed, as I recalled how the humans found out I was with Crystal...

Honestly, they didn't care that much...

But they still hated me.

I walked down the stairs and to the front desk. What could they possibly want? Wait... Did this happen to Crystal??
What? Oh fluff no-

"Shadow, there's some people who want to see you..." The human lead me to a small confined room, where they had to put locks on the doorknobs to prevent me from escaping. I sat at the table where I saw two other people that I didn't recognize at first..

The human closed the door, locking me in the room. I rubbed my left arm as I stared into the oak table, nervously.

"Hey there!" A voice spoke up, he gave a small wave. I looked up, still full of anxiety. I then was shocked at who I saw... Right in front of me, it was NatePat! AKA, NateWantsToBattle and MatPat...

Mat was the one who spoke up first...
I had stars in my eyes as I tried to contain myself...

"G-Greetings.." I tried to hold back everything inside, but it was leaking out. Nate looked at me softly...

"What's your name?" He asked.
I still looked at the table.

"Sh-Shadow." I replied.

"Nice to meet you Shadow, we're-" I cut him off. I couldn't hold back any longer!

"You're Matpat and he's Nate! I know you guys..."

They looked starstruck.
But then, they smiled widely.
"Yep, we're keeping her..." Nate whispered to Mat and Mat looked at him, "We were already going to keep her!" He whisper shouted back.

I couldn't help but slightly laugh at their tiny argument. They looked back at me and chuckled...

"You're from YouTube... I know this might sound weird, but I'm a big fan..." I quieted myself as I realized what I was actually doing. I mentally punched myself in the face for sounding all weird to them.

"Heh..." I looked down at the table, avoiding their gaze. Maybe this time... Maybe I could actually have a forever home. Had I found a home? A true home? I wondered.

Mat and Nate grinned.
"Looks like we will see you tomorrow then?" They awaited for my answer. I gasped and then immediately shut my mouth after that since the gasp sounded like a squeak.

I ran over to them and tackled them into a hug, which they gladly accepted.

"Thank you..." I whispered.
Nate ruffled my hair and looked down at me, "No problem, kid."

.....

All I can remember after they left was my excitement and the moments that lead me up to this. I grabbed my satchel, and I was ready.
I was ready for this new adventure...
I was ready for change!
It was time to flip the page of this story of mine, and it was time to face what was to come next.

I couldn't wait.

"Ugh, Shadow, come down to the main entrance... Your new... 'Family' is here." The human who called me down groaned, but I looked past that. Not even that could bring me down - I was just so happy to get out of this place. I hated it here.

I wished the best to the others that were here, and I secretly let them in on a passage way that would let them sneak out of the orphanage whenever they wanted. Freedom was very important...

"Do you think she knows? About us? Our true selves?" Nate whispered to Mat, and Mat hushed him. They couldn't take any chance for anyone to find out who they truly were, but they knew that I would find out soon enough.

I raced down the stairs, and I saw both of them. I ran up to them and they seemed happy to see me.

"Ready?" Mat asked and I nodded.

Before leaving, I stood at the door.
"Farewell, orphanage. I hope to see you never again." I then looked at the receptionist and I smirked. She rolled her eyes and folded her arms.

With that, I was gone.
Onto a new journey wit new people.

I couldn't wait.
