Friend, Please

I stumbled aback a little bit... I wasn't prepared for what they did...
"Me?!" I asked them, shocked.

They nodded, "It's only fair!"
I began to panic... I hadn't prepared to this - this wasn't in my plans.

Eclipse looked at me with a calm expression. I looked at him, took a deep breath, and looked back at Nate and Mat.

"Okay... I'll do it."

They were shocked.
"We didn't actually think you'd do it," Nate began.
"Yeah, I mean, we thought you would back out." Mat replied.

"No, no. I said that I would do it, so I'm going to do it... Just... Close your eyes." They nodded, and I looked at Eclipse once more.

I began to run, and then I leaped.
I transformed and landed...

They opened their eyes, and when they did, they looked shocked.

I still had my Lapis Lazuli necklace on...
I was a grey wolf with cloud like patterns. I had ice blue eyes, galaxy-like wings, and a big fluffy tail.

"Woah..." Nate was astonished.

A few days past, and Nate had shown me a lot of wolf knowledge. He did know a lot about wolves - even more than me, which said quite a lot.
Most of his books were about wolf lore and wolf history, which was useful.

"Shadow! You wanna be in a video with us today? Nate and I are reviewing Okami, the game!" Mat called out, and I gasped in excitement. I loved the game Okami... Okami was a Japanese wolf game, which I LOVED.

"Of course!" I shouted back, and came racing out of my room. Eclipse followed, as he was always loyal.

I sat down on the couch, which was where we would be recording. Nate and Mat sat at the right end next to each other, whilst I was on the left.

"Ready?" Nate handed me a controller.
"You know it! I'm always up for a good game of Okami." Y'know, I'm always a big nerd when it comes to video games.

Once the camera was turned on, I wasn't shown right away... It was a surprise, as they hadn't really made an announcement that I had been adopted by them, which I think was a good thing.

"Introducing.... Shadow!" Mat said as if it was a normal thing. I popped my head into the camera's view and I gave a shy smile.

I slightly waved, which was when Eclipse decided to jump on the couch, blocking the camera's vision of me. I got a mouthful of fur.

"Pfft! Pfft! Eclipse!" I laughed at the funny dog that was Eclipse. Eclipse panted, almost like he was smiling.
It's funny how dogs can do that.

Anyway, Eclipse had settled down and layed on the couch - on top of me.
The video was pretty normal. We played the game and reviewed it, that was pretty much it.

...
It was night time, and I was wandering around the house. Eclipse was sleeping, so I didn't dare make a sound. If I did, I would make him get up to follow me... He was just that loyal.

A couple of times, I thought I seen something, but apparently it was just my mind playing tricks on me...
Which was super weird.

Something stepped out of the darkness, "Hey there." I jumped as the voice echoed.

I turned to see whom the figure was, but I couldn't find the figure. It was almost as if the figure was invisible.

"Here." The figure stepped into the moonlight that was gleaming through the open windows.

The figure looked exactly like Nate, but... Different.
Yes, this had to be him, 'twas Natemare whom was dressed in black.

"You know me?" He asked, smiling.
"You can read minds?"

"Nah, you just said that out loud." I blushed from embarrassment.

"Oh, hey. Don't forget about me." Madpat stepped out to join Natemare.

"Shadow?" Nate scrambled out from wherever he was... "Oh!" Nate noticed Natemare and Madpat.

"Sorry about them..." Nate chuckled, as if this was normal. But this was the way I liked it... Normal was bad, weird is good. This was weird, so I liked it.

"Shadow!" Mat came out from nowhere and then stopped in his tracks. "...Oh no."

"It's fine, I deal with alter-egos all of the time." I shrugged. It was true...

"Oh. Okay then." Mat then walked back to his bedroom as if this was a dream...

Nate walked back to his bedroom as well...

After a little bit of talking with both Natemare and Madpat, I decided to go back to sleep as well.

I woke up with my heart beating, but shattered.
I woke up longing for something...
Something was missing.
It felt exactly like the time to flip a page in my chapter of my life...
Oh no...
