I watched in horror as about a kajillion giants poured into my beloved 2nd home. I recognized most of them from Greek Mythology class, but some we hadn't covered yet. Dakota stood next to me, frozen with fear. Her blue eyes were wide, and completely vulnerable. Once I got her back to reality, she fought like a demon.

Dakota fought the way a natural fighter would fight, like Rion or Luke, or my parents. Every move was swift and thought out, each one killing at least one giant. I followed her lead, slashing, stabbing, etc. But it wasn't enough. Already, I'd seen about 10 campers get trampled to death. I tried to look for Logan in the midst of the battle, but he was nowhere to be seen.

About 10 feet away, a little girl, who couldn't be more than eight, was fallen, and a giant was about to stomp her to death. I ran, trying to save her, but everywhere I looked, there was another kid who needed help. My head started to spin, like a whirlwind in my mind. I saw Dakota fiercely fighting a giant, but all she was doing was making it laugh. We needed more power. We needed Logan.

My body was on autopilot, and I had no idea what I was doing. I was ready to stop, ready to drop, and ready to roll away to my death. But something caught my eye. A little blue spark of electricity ran along the ground, killing giants by the second. I searched the hill to find the source, and every one led to Logan.

He stood with his arms outstreched, a vortex of electricity swarming around him. Time slowed down until it was almost millisecond by millisecond. Giants fell by the second, dozens at a time. And I stood, awestruck, in the midst of a battle.

Logan's eyes were squinted, and completely focused. It was pretty miraculous to see. But I got too absorbed watching him. I let my guard down. I let myself be vulnerable for legit two seconds, and then bam. I was out cold.

I woke up in Logan's arms, and felt my face burn red.

"You just keep getting knocked out, dont'cha?" Logan laughed, obviously feeling more comfortable around me.

"Is it all over?" I asked, sitting up. It was. Logan had done it all alone.

"Yup. Hey, I think I know what knocked you out." I waited to hear some monster that I'd never heard of, but of course it was much stupider.

"These biceps!" I made a face at him,  and he doubled over laughing.

"It's true! I knew it!" I just shook my head. Boys.

I recognized where we were. On the dock by the lake, where my own parents had flirted with each other decades before.

"I love it here," I thought aloud. Logan smiled, and rested his hand on my hand. I flinched, but decided to let him have his heroic-loverboy moment.

"Same." We sat in awkward silence, and I wished Dakota was here to break it up, but then again...

"Wanna take a swim?" I grinned, diving into the lake. I waved at my nereid friends at the bottom of the lake. I looked up to see... no Logan.

"Hey! I thought you were coming in!" He shook his head and scrunched up his nose.

"No! It's cold!" I shook my head, giggling.

"You're such a sissy! C'mon!" And with that, I pulled him in.

"Why are you soaking wet, Logan?" Chrion raised his eyebrow at him.

"Uhh... No reason..." Only then did he notice that I was perfectly dry. Chrion wasn't convinced, but didn't push the matter any further. I followed him to the BIg House, where Dakota and some other older campers were seated. I took a seat next to Dakota and listened to Chiron speak.
