Be confident with your updates
Write ahead of time, like get a good twenty chapters done and edited before you post, for writer's block don;t push it just take a break for a few days before you sit down to write again, and remember that sometimes filler chapters are necessary. Developing characters isn't easy, but what I would say is give your characters unique traits and a couple tragic flaws, for me they just develop as I go on.
Filler chapters- Take a detour from the main action and plot to instead focus purely on characterization it's also sometimes just simple fluff and fun for the readers to calm the tension for a while.
Sense detail
Show dont tell. Use sense detail to describe the story's location ant time the emotional state of the character's and their relationships instead of stating place, time, and mood.
Let the reader experience the story through the characters senses.
Layer details on top of one another.
Planning is really important. It reduces plot holes, and avoids a story being unorganized with no goal in mind. It also keeps you on track!
Try to add a lot of sensory and vivid details for the description which creates imagery. Try to develop characters over the coarse of the story. Make sure each character is important in a way. Proper grammar is really important too. Try not to make chapters transitional writing pieces (dont use then or other transitions) it will sound uninteresting and like a factual list.
Looking tips up on google for writing stories or something around that, or if you know there is specific you need to work on you can google that too. Internet is a very helpful guide to writers.
Prewriting-
Keeping a notebook of ideas- jotting down these thoughts that occur throughout the day. Once you have an idea you need to expand on it. Don't make the mistake of jumping straight into your writing- you'll end up with a badly structured piece.
Planning a structure- Brainstorming writing- Just write, don't stop, writing requires concentration and energy,
Editing- tip print out your work and edit on paper. Many writers find it easier to spot mistakes this way.
Describe more- not to use the word said, too much. Add different words in it's place like smiled, grinned, to show their facial expression. Make sure POV'S are different from each other's
