Ms Aromdee asked Fern and Apo to visit. When they got there, Apo had to park on the street, Puth's new car took up the entire driveway. The whole way, Apo talked about nothing but Fern's theory about Wai and Puth.
"Apo, I think that Wai and Puth are a great match. Wai is successful and brilliant, Puth has many of the same qualities." Fern looked out the car window and at the sky in a dreamy sort of way. "I can just see Puth in that great big house of Wai's."
"Fern, you're one tricky gal."
Achi sat in the back seat and said nothing. He let the two old friends hash out their differences.
"No way P'Fern, I still don't believe it." Apo bowed his head. "Although, my career in matchmaking is over. What do I know?"

Fern didn't like hearing Apo talk like that. She was happy that they'd reached the sisters home.
Both were surprised to see that Sang and Wai were already there, Sang apparently was there to fix the nearly blind Ms Aromdee's thick glasses. She seemed delighted that he was able to do it for her.
"Thank you Nong'Sang, you saved me the money and the time taking them in for repair."
As everyone stood and admired the shiny new vehicle, Wai spoke quietly to Apo and Fern. "What a ridiculous gift for a boy so young, he won't be able to afford to maintain it. His Aunt's certainly can't take on such an expense, it's just crazy."
He walked away, this left Fern to speak, again hushed. "Hmm, maybe I was wrong Nong'Apo, it doesn't sound like this came from Wai after all."
Apo smiled inside.
The smile was wiped away almost instantly, Ms Aromdee spoke and thanked Wai for all the groceries he'd sent over.
"Nong'Wai those apples were beautiful. How did you know that Nong'Puth loves apples?"
Apo couldn't explain his own feelings to himself if he tried. "Why would Wai send over groceries for the ladies? He knows my dad always takes care of them. Is P'Fern right? This generosity, is it for Nong'Puth?"
The old sister's excused themselves and went back into the house with Fern, leaving the five boys still standing in the driveway.
"I have an idea!" Sang took ahold of Apo's arms. "Let's all go out on the weekend to a nightclub." He looked at Wai, "P', you must know some good spots we can go, you told me Nong'Apo has never been."
