K.O stopped running once he was in the forest and sat against a tree. His hair was much messier than before and he could even feel a tooth that was sharper than the rest. He let out a sigh, knowing that this was what he was now, and nothing could change that.
He looked to the side and pulled the headband out of his hair, making it all fall down onto his shoulders. He held it in his hand and stared at it, clenching it in his fist tightly. He sat there for a moment as the wind blew against him before standing up and slowly walking around.
He can't remember the last time he actually had his hair down. He's always kept his hair together with his headband, even when doing things like showering and sleeping. He hasn't realized just how long his hair actually was, though he really didn't seem to care.
He stopped once he reached a small lake and peered over to look at his reflection. His eyelids were a purple color and he had circles under his eyes. He just looked away, unable to stare at himself any longer.
"What is wrong with me?" He asked himself, sitting up against a tree once again. He realized his voice wasn't the same anymore, and that it was kind of scratchy and a little bit deeper.
He placed his head in his legs and closed his eyes, hoping today would be over. Hours seemed to go by, though it was only a couple of minutes. Eventually, he got up and looked around, when his eyes landed on a tree branch.
He looked at his headband and at the tree branch, thinking of something.
"I wonder," he said to himself, walking up to it. He found a spot on the tree decently high enough off the and placed his headband on it. He was about to do something else, but a voice stopped him in his tracks.
"Heh, you look much better that way, K.O," a voice said from behind him. He quickly turned around and saw Professor Venomous standing there with a smile on his face.
"Professor Venomous?" K.O asked, backing away somewhat as he stepped toward him. "What are you doing here? And how do you know my name?"
"I don't think I can answer that," he declared, kneeling down to his height. "Though I do have a solution to your problem."
K.O looked around with fear and confusion. He didn't understand what was going on or why Professor Venomous was here.
He pulled the headband off of the tree and held it in his hands, pulling on it like someone would do with a belt or whip. "Now what were you planning on doing with this?" He asked, his calm voice sending chills down K.O's spine.
"I, um..."
He didn't know how to answer, he didn't even know what he was planning on doing. It just came to him and he thought about doing it, but he didn't really know exactly why.
"Ah, it doesn't matter anyway," Professor Venomous said, placing the headband in his pocket. "Anyway, if you want to deal with your problem, you just simply need to let your shadow take control and work for me, alright?"
"What?!" K.O's eyes went wide with shock. Was Professor Venomous really asking K.O to work for him? He was so confused he didn't even know how to react.
"Yes," He responded, his voice calm yet stern. "You see, K.O, villains can actually get more things than heroes can, it just works that way. While we do fail more often than heroes, we can get whatever we want!"
"I don't understand, why me?" K.O asked.
"I can't tell you, but one thing I can tell you is that it'll be worth it. Your dark side will take over eventually, why not make it easier for yourself?"
K.O looked around, thinking hard about what he was being said. He wanted this all to stop, but he didn't want his shadow to take control over him.
"Also," Professor Venomous added. "If you let it take control, you and your shadow will basically become one person and you won't have to fight for control all your life."
K.O just continued thinking, when eventually, he finally made a decision. He didn't know what caused him to make the decision, but he made his decision and kept it.
He closed his eyes and cleared his mind, letting the shadow once again take control over him.
Hopefully, for good.
