Chapter Three - Bigger Things.

As you were tossing and turning in your bed, you could here a beeping noise. Still half asleep you couldn't quite register what it was. Opening one eye you realized it was your phone. Fumbling around your desk to find your phone you grunted as you expected it to be Matt, As you finally found your phone it said private number, reluctantly you answered and was delighted too hear a soft delicate voice on the other end. It was K Productions and they wanted to meet with you today as they have had a last minute job offer and want you too start straight away and meet them at 12 at their offices too discuss it further. 

Once you hung up the phone you were full of excitement and wanted to look your best. You picked out your best clothes and neatly laid them on the bed debating if they needed ironing or not. With half an hour already passed you knew you needed to get your arse in gear so you started to apply your make up. It was only when you were applying your foundation you saw the hand prints on your neck. The foundation you used was not covering the marks that Matt had created. Getting anxious and scared that people might see them you remembered you had a thin cotton scarf you could wear around your neck. Thoughts of anger and embarrassment flooded over you and then you clicked saying to yourself "This is my day to be happy and excited I will not let him ruin this for me too". With that you finished getting ready and applied more make up than you usually would, but it felt great to be you and not even care. You wanted to look approachable and smart.

12 o'clock was soon approaching and as you headed out your flat you were praying in your head that you wouldn't bump into Matt. Walking faster than usual you dashed out the main door and to the exit of the campus. Once you were out the campus you knew you didn't have much chance of bumping into Matt considering he only left his room to come to yours or go to University. Walking along you had this burst of energy come over you. Just what you needed before you saw K Productions. 

Arriving at their office door you took a deep breath and pressed the intercom. "Hi I'm Summer, I got a meeting at 12" "Someone is on their way down now, Summer". As you bit your lip with nerves a gorgeous young women, about your age answered the door and usherd you in. "Hi Summer, I'm Suzy and I will be telling you what your upcoming job role is. It's all very exciting!" You smiled at Suzy and said "I'm really looking forward to it." As you walked past offices it looked like you were in some sort of news building with people printing stuff off and people sat at the computers typing away. In your head you hoped that you wouldn't be sat at a computer because you were more hands on. Suzy came to a stop and said to you "Would you like to sit in there Summer, I'm just going to get my paperwork". As you sat down in this little office it was then you realized it was Suzy's office. Hundreds of band pictures were framed on her wall and even signed. You were hoping that something like this could be yours one day.

Suzy arrived back in with a lot of paper in her hand "Sorry Summer, I'm very disorganized today with this last minute job that has came in." You said to her that it's fine and you didn't mind waiting. As Suzy sat down she caught a glimpse of you looking around and said "Pretty impressive huh?" you nodded and let out a massive smile. Suzy was sorting out her paper in the right order whilst you quickly remembered your phone wasn't on silent you hurried to get it out your pocket so Suzy didn't see. You quickly flicked the side and it went straight onto silent.

"Right Summer, First of all. Welcome to the team it's a pleasure to have you here working for us." You quickly added "No, thank you this is the best opportunity of my life." Suzy smiled and carried on with what she wanted to say "This last minute job has been offered to you, in the hope that you say yes. There is this band in America called Of Mice and Men. And we've been asked if we could film their whole tour over in America to put it out as a DVD a couple months after their tour finishes. You will be the only person filming it and it is completely your project, So what we have to do is get you too meet the band discuss ideas and how they want their final product to look. I know this is a lot of information to take in. But just remember this is your project and this will help build your portfolio. If you decide to move on from K Productions we want to make sure you go with a heavy portfolio to really put you out there. How does this sound Summer?". You were amazed by what she had just said considering you love this genre of music and have been listening to Of Mice and Men for years. "Wow, this sounds amazing. I can't believe I have an opportunity like this. I promise I won't let you down." Suzy smiled and assured you that you wouldn't let them down. "There is one thing though Summer, Is that you will have to leave tomorrow. There tour doesn't start for a week but it is important to get to know your clients personally so you can take in their personalities to get a great final product." Knowing you would have to leave tomorrow worried you, because of Matt and how he would react. Suzy quickly interupted your thoughts and said "All expenses are paid for, so don't worry about that. We won't send you with the equipment tomorrow but we will send it over a day or two before the tour. We also have a certain allowance per person in this place of work. So if you're worrying about money, don't you literally do not have to spend even a penny." This opportunity was great for you but you couldn't budge this worried feeling but you quickly said "It's great, I can't wait. Thank you so much." Suzy got up from her desk and walked around to you with big open arms and said "You're going to be a great addition too the team and I cannot wait to see your work. I will send flight details in an email and stop by the office tomorrow to get the flight tickets." With that you thanked Suzy again and started too walk home with the best feeling you had ever felt.
