You arrived back at your room that day, not hearing from Matt you assumed he was in a good mood today. Sat on your bed looking at the four plain walls of your room you were going over and over in your head what you would say too Matt. A part of you was hoping he would never contact you again after you told him about your job. And this felt wrong. But why should it feel wrong when he has been so horrible too you. He doesn't love you and certainly doesn't care about you.
Pushing that aside you rung university and told them about your job. Thankfully they were very understanding and agreed to let you have this time off considering you caught up with the work when you came back. This was brilliant news because you were on a media course they allow you to be able to take time off to do side projects. This felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. Just as you hung up you received a call from Matt saying that he was coming over now. Not like you had a choice or could say no.
As Matt arrived he greeted you with a smile, you thought to yourself this is odd he is never smiling. He sat down on your chair as you sat on the bed and looked at him with a blank expression. You needed too tell him and now, you had so much to do like pack and get everything sorted. You had one hand on your lap and the other arm across your waist. "Matt I need too tell you something, and it might make you mad but please just listen too me." Matt's face had fury in it, you knew he was thinking that you were about too tell him something bad. "What, just fucking spit out" Matt splatted at you. "O..Okay, Well i've been offered a job in America for a few weeks too build up my portfolio and the flight leaves tomorrow." Matt just sat there blanked face, then smiled "That's great news." You knew that this wasn't the Matt you knew and was so confused.
Matt made his way over to you and sat by your side. He put his arm around you and got closer to your head then he whispered "You're not going, You're staying right here with me and if you even think about leaving I will kill you, trust me." As your breathing got faster Matt knew you were scared and loved every minute of it. This was the Matt you knew. As you were sat there your body shaking in fear you felt a sharp pain go through your head and a massive throbbing sensation on your ear. Matt had just punched you in the side of your face. "I'm sorry, I thought you would be happy for me. It means more money for us". Matt just laughed and dragged you up by your hair. Bits of purple hair were clenched around his fist. The next thing you knew you were down on the floor, again. This time Matt was kicking you so hard you curled up in a ball in the corner not being able to feel your legs. You were praying this would stop, but it didn't.
After he finally had finished, he sniffed hard and made a gurgling noise in his mouth then spat on you. You were defenceless, you couldn't move your legs. Matt just walked out saying "Fucking slut!". Slamming the door behind him, you were thankful he was gone. Sat there sobbing you thought to yourself no more am I letting this happen too me. With that you got up and screeched in pain because of your legs.
Determined that he was not going to stop you going you got your suitcase and filled it with all your things. Part of you felt so happy that you were going no matter what he or anyone said but the other part was worried that what if he actually did try to kill you. You realized it was 11pm, no word from Matt no nothing. So you decided to get an early night.
4am and you woke with pain in your leg and noticed a big red bruise forming. You were thankful it was just a bruise and no broken bones. You stayed awake and got the rest of your things together. Then a thought popped into your head if you leave early there is no way he would be able to stop you, he wouldn't be up at this time unless he planned too. Which you were hoping he wouldn't be. You went over the flight details again that Suzy had sent you. Your flight was at 1pm from London Heathrow. Holding your passport in your hand you were hesitating if it was the right thing to do.
6:30am and you shot up and said out loud "This is it, I'm going now. No looking back. I can do this!". You hurried out your halls, suitcase in tow praying Matt wasn't watching out his window or anywhere around campus. You noticed Matt's window open, odd you thought to yourself he never has his window open. Then it clicked he had his window open so he could hear your suitcase going across the ground. With that you picked up your heavy suitcase determined he wouldn't hear you. You flagged down a cab. As you got in you had a feeling of sickness in your stomach, so scared. You looked back and nothing was there. You threw your head back in relief and let out a sigh. You did it, you finally escaped this monster. With that you headed to the office to get your flight tickets.
