NOT PROOF READ

*one week time skip*

Louis awoke to an empty bedside, Harry most likely went for a run or was making breakfast. However, the suspicious thing was, it was quiet; too quiet.

He suspected that Jacob was most likely sleeping, yet when he looked at the clock on his nightstand, he saw that it was well past the usual time the four year old awoke - and it wasn't like Jacob to sleep in.

The thought of Harry making breakfast with him was something that he considered to be true. But that theory was thrown out the window when Jacob stumbled into the doorway, a piece of paper placed in his chubby, little hands.

"Papa, Harry left this for you," he announced, bringing the written note to his father. Jacob was able to read only slightly, still having difficulty with more complexed words.

Louis grabbed the note from his son and read over it carefully, not wanting to miss any detail from the lettering on it.

The letter from Harry basically stated that he was leaving Louis and their unborn child, due to him not being able to 'handle' responsibilities of fatherhood - especially with his intense career.

"I-I can't believe it," Louis muttered to himself, trying not to breakdown in front of Jacob, and also for the sake of their unborn child.

Jacob tried peering over Louis' shoulder to see the note, yet it was blocked from his sight. Even though he couldn't read too well, Louis still didn't want him to find out so soon.

"What's it say, papa?" The curious four-year old asked. Once again reaching to see a glimpse of the words, only to be shielded away from Louis.

The twenty-five year old sniffles once more and pulled his son closer, hiding the note far out of his sight.

"It's nothing important, bubs.. nothing at all."

...

Louis jolted awake in a panic as Harry called his name several times. The outside sky was still pitch-black, signaling that it could be just a few hours past midnight.

And Louis' assumptions were correct when he glanced at bedside alarm, and indeed saw that it was just hitting three am.

He was so focused on the nightmare and what ridiculous hour of the night it was, that he completely forgot that Harry was still there.

"What's the matter, boo," Harry whispered, wiping the tears on Louis' cheeks each time a new one appeared.

The twenty-two year old seemed to not be able to contain his sobs, yet was doing his best - knowing it wasn't necessarily safe for jellybean.

"Please don't ever leave me," Louis begged, his cries now turning into full-on hysterics.

Harry brushed back some of the younger lads fringe, "baby.. I don't understand, what happened?"

"It was just an awful dream I had. Y-you did exactly what Jacob's father did, packed your bags and left without explanation." Louis' voice shook with each breath, but thankfully he was slowly starting to relax a bit more.

"Lou, baby.. I would never do that," Harry acknowledged. "I can't even imagine what you went through with Jacob's dad, but I can assure that it won't be happening with me."

Louis sniffled, "You really mean that?"

Harry kissed his lips softly, "every single word, angel." He then slid his left hand up Louis' oversized shirt and placed it on his stomach, the coolness of the metal from his rings making the younger lad shiver.

"I'm sorry I doubted you," Louis spoke after a few minutes of silence.

"Hey.. there's no need for you to apologize, baby. I mean, yeah of course it hurts me when you say I'll leave you, but it's not your fault that you have to believe those things."

Louis snuggled up against Harry even more after his statement. His cries now decreasing slowly as he came to even more of a realization that it was just a dream and not reality.

"I just want to protect you from every harmful thing, you know that?" Harry explained. Louis smiled in response and pecked the older mans lips.

Harry then began to rake his fingers through the younger lads fringe, softly playing with it as he went.

"Go back to sleep, cupcake, you need rest and energy for jellybean," Harry whispered.

Louis politely obeyed and cuddled his head into Harry's bare chest, being extra cautious of his small forming bump.

"Thanks for calming me down, H. I love you."

"I love you too, Lou."

...

This was really short and horrendous, but that's only because I had writers block for this chapter and couldn't think of anything.
