Memories are the key not to the past, but to the future.

I walked down ahead at the long corridors of the west wing of the castle. Guards would bow down as I past them, fearing me with every movement. Hearing only my dark, black, leather boots thumping as each shoe touches the scarlet red, silky carpet repeatedly. And the sounds of my weapons on my belt clanged as my hips swayed.
At the end of the trail I walked over to giant, brown, doors that was covered in dead vines and the shining, silver symbol on the door was a sword that had wings coming out on each side, which was completed by a skull through the sword.
Our sign.
As I stopped in front, the two muscular dark angels opened the doors giving me a bows before doing so.
Walking down the aisle I admired the dark, black walls around the room that had cracks like in a pavement. Weird I know. But those cracks represents the history here in this very castle.
Servants were in the throne room treating my master and once they had noticed that I have walked in they trembled in fear and whispered little words to each other.
"It's him, The Dark One's trusty commander!"
"No it's the Demon Slayer!"
"Nonsense i heard the many deaths throughout the kingdom is because of him!"
"No it's the........Prince of Death himself!"
Earning myself a smirk at their kind responses I continued to walk until I was at the bottom steps of the throne. There he sat, sitting on the massive throne in the room, bigger and taller than he was.
Near the throne I realised that many dead bodies were laying around lifeless across the marble floor.
Bowing I smirked and spoke, "My Lord, I see you have been busy while I was away"
There was no light in the room, no light at all. Of course there will not be light in this kingdom. We are the darkness, we walk with the shadows, we kill in the dark, we even speak in the dark, WE ARE the darkness.
I could hear my masters breath, low breaths under his shadows, not showing his face and under his long black charcoal, hair.
"My son you have returned" my master said in a hoarse voice. "If you are here, that must mean you have finished what I had assigned you to do?"
Shit.
"My apologies my lord, but we had a minor problem, capturing the girl" I replied firmly, showing that I am fearless and bold, head down low, still in my bowing position.
"What sort of problem?" He gritted through his teeth.
"Some heavenly guards was in the way"
"ARGHH!" master yelled as he slammed his sceptre on the floor tiles, earning a crack from one of them. "I WANT THE GIRL!"
"And you will my dark one, I promise you"
