"I don't want other people to decide who I am. I want to decide that for myself"

Meet me where we had our first encounter in the woods.

~R

My eyes trailed over and over again, towards the fine ink that was written on the piece of paper. Even if I had read the note for about the one hundredth time again, I would still not understand the meaning of this suspicious message.

But woods? The very same woods where I happen to have got half of the royal guards killed viciously? But what gave me a curious feeling was the signature at the end of this message.

R?

I do not know why but somehow this message gave me such an uneasy feeling. I wanted to know the person who wrote this. But what if it is a trap? A plan to draw me in, then kill me in the process.

But who knows? Even if I do decide to have a little adventure in the woods, I would never get past the royal guards. But the main question is, do I really want to go?

My eyes trailed back to the small piece of paper and suddenly the previous message changed.

If you want to know who I am, come in the woods before midnight.
P.s Wear something comfortable ...

~R

I was not even gonna ask myself mentally of how it changed so suddenly. Why would this person want to see me so badly?

I did not speak for a while but decided to see this mysterious boy or girl. I went straight to my wardrobe and quickly changed to a black shirt, white and black top with laces on the middle, black boots and to complete my outfit I put on a long red cape.

I know that this is not what a princess would usually wear but in my perspective, this is the type of clothing that is  comfortable for me, even though no one likes me wearing this.

I made my way up yo the doors of my chambers but was stopped when I realised the door was locked shut.

"Wha-?"

I tried multiple times to get this blasted door to open up but gave up trying.

"Hey! Someone open this door right this instance!" I called out.

Suddenly, two royal guards opened the door instantly and instead of letting me exit my chamber, they prevented me from leaving.

"What is going on?" I asked, furiously.

The guards looked at me with alarm expressions covering their whole face. After a second or so one of the guards stepped forward and spoke, "I am deeply sorry your highness but we were all informed not to let you out.

"I do not understand" I frowned.

"The king himself has now declared that curfew will be before midnight and if I am wrong, it is nearly midnight.

"Yes of course I know that it is nearly midnight but I do not get why my father would declare such things" I argued.

"Forgive me your majesty, but the king himself has informed the guards to not let the royal family leave at this time needed. They would have to be locked in their chambers before the curfew starts to prevent them from going out without permission" he added and gave me a small look signaling that it was mostly for me.
