Today Cherry was letting me have the kids. We'd spent the whole week together, bonding and getting to know each other again. She'd told me everything I needed to know about looking after the kids for a day on my own. She had to meet a client, and I volunteered to help out since I wasn't there during the pregnancy or even the first few months of Sarah and Mike's lives.
"Everything you need is in the baby bag, Jordon. If they start crying, take them out in the pram, they love the park and especially going around the duck pond. You'll do fine, I trust you."
Cherry pecks me on the cheek before rushing out of her apartment. Sarah and Mike were gurgling in their pram. They'd already been fed this morning, so I wouldn't have to worry about feeding them until later.
"Come on kids time to spend the day with daddy."
Both kids clap while my phone goes off in my pocket. I take it out and see the band group chat was buzzing.
*GROUP CHAT*
George: Who's down for getting some lyrics written today
Jorel: I doubt Matt and Dylan will answer...too busy having sex
Danny: I think the two of them are cute together guys
Jorel: Danny you're a walking talking romantic cliché
Danny: I believe in love, sue me!
George: Down Danny, and Jorel stop baiting our little lion
Jordon: Can't do today. Looking after the twins while Cherry meets a client
Jorel: Ah look at daddy Jordon xxx
Danny: *squeals* so much cuteness overload
Jordon: So you're back on my side now???
George: Of course we are man, you're showing responsibility and growing up
Jorel: I'm happy you and Cherry are slowly working things out
Danny: I can hear wedding bells in the future...
Jordon: We're not there just yet little lion
George: But you are thinking about marriage? Our Charlie Scene is finally a man *sheds a single tear*
Jorel: *holds George* I call dibs on being the best man!
George: *Pushes Jorel aside* No I'm the best man!
Danny: I like cake!
Jordon: *ruffles Danny's hair* you're a good one kid
Matt: Dylan and I don't have much sex...
Jorel: What were you doing just being answering then?
Dylan: Having mind-blowing sex Jorel. You should try it sometime!
Danny: BURN!
George: this conversation is taking a whole different turn than what I expected...
Jordon: The twins are better behaved than all you guys. Speaking of twins got to go Sarah's crying
Jorel: JORDON DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE ME WITH THESE PSYCHOS!!!
Jordon: *blows Jorel a kiss* good luck

I put my phone down and pick Sarah up, cradling her just like Cherry had shown me.
