Bzzzzz. Bzzzzz.

Cecelia King stuck out her hand from the warmth of her bed and searched blindly for her buzzing phone. Bzzzzz. She flicked the duvet from her face to see her beloved iPhone screen down on the soft carpet, she picked it up and saw two missed calls. She groaned as she pushed herself up in order to see the phone better. As she got comfortable, the phone began to buzz again, making her jump in surprise. 'Hello?' she answered, curious as to the identity of her early caller. 'Sorry love, did I wake you?' Angela King sang down the phone, 'no mum, not at all'. She wiped her eyes and stood up, pushing her unruly hair from her face, 'is everything okay?'

'I was just checking you were ready' Cecelia rolled her eyes and put her mum on speaker as she placed the phone on her bedside table. 'Your new phone is working okay then?'

'Its great!' Angela squeaked 'I love it!' Cecelia snatched her phone from the table as it vibrated with the pitch and volume of her mums voice; she put it to her ear. 'Well that's brilliant' she sighed 'but I'm upstairs. Why don't you just come up and see me?' Angela laughed 'that's no fun! And with that, she hung up.

Cecelia sighed as she pulled the brush through her wavy hair. She looked around her childhood room and although she had enjoyed the short stay with her parents, she wanted future visits to remain just that. Short. Her parents had been such a pain recently, she was staying on her own in a flat just round the corner from them and they still insisted that she should visit often. She had left home as soon as she could; she had dreamed of living alone and she couldn't believe that she had finally made it. She put on her make-up and put her few belongings she had brought into her tiny suitcase. She went downstairs to see her parents before she left and David King was sitting reading the morning paper; as he had done every morning for as long as she could remember. She said a quick goodbye to her parents and left before a fuss could be made.

She put her suitcase into the boot of her little silver Fiat and sped to the drivers side door, she got inside and made sure to lock the doors. She wouldn't make that mistake again. She turned the key in the ignition and drove away before her overprotective parents managed to meddle in her life once again.
