'Ta da'. He took his hands away from her eyes and she looked around in amazement. There were huge black net drapes on the ceiling, a white and sparkly black tiled dance floor, tables around the dance floor scattered with diamonds and glitter. She turned and noticed the buffet across the room, she went to it and looked at all the elegant looking snacks. She picked up a mini white sugared donut, took off the pink sugar diamond that was sticking out, ate it and then fed him the donut. She wiped the sugar from his face 'mm. That's so yummy' she said in surprise licking her lips 'do you like it?' He asked quietly and she nodded responding with a gentle kiss on the lips.
A few groups of family arrived first and Cecelia and Oscar gave them a warm welcome, pointing them to the tables and telling them to help themselves to the food. Hillary, Bill, Angela and David walked into the reception as the music was starting to get going. She hugged all 4 at the same time, Hillary said 'I loved the sign!' Cecelia looked puzzled and Hillary led her out of the doors to find a blackboard, similar to the seating hint at the service, that read 'Trust me you can dance. Love Vodka'. They turned to each other and burst into laughter before returning to the main party. She was caught up dancing with everyone that Oscar greeted most people telling them that Cecelia was walking around and they should find her to say hi. Most people sat down to have something to eat and there were a couple of elderly relatives dancing along with Cecelia and Abby. 'Thank you so much' Cecelia said 'you were so much help today' she picked Abby up, gave her a kiss and whirled her round in a circle; she squealed in excitement.
At 8pm, two hours after the start of the celebrations, the DJ called for the couple to meet on the dance floor for their first dance. She went there and waited for him, he didn't come for a while and she thought he had left. She was leaving the dance floor when the music started and he took her hand and whirled her round slowly. He took her hand in his and pulled her closer towards him. She recognised the opening bars to Always a Woman by Billy Joel, it was her favourite song, she looked up at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. 'This has been so perfect' she whispered into his ear as she laid her head on his chest, sliding her hands down so they were behind his back. He put his hands round her waist and they swayed gently from side to side, he whispered the lyrics to her and stroked her hair. She closed her eyes and listened to the bass come through his body, she has never felt like this before. So content, so loved, so... happy. He watched her face soften and he felt her relax in his arms for the first time that night. 'Its been hard. But it was all worth it, right?' She made an agreeing mumble and held him tighter, pulling them even closer. The song ended and they reluctantly separated, but they soon found each other again. Hillary was in tears almost the whole night, she had never seen her son so happy and she couldn't believe it was his wedding day. She remembered the first time she had met Cecelia, the beautiful but slightly clumsy young lady. She had watched her new daughter-in-law blossom in a way she felt that Angela never had. They stood together at the doors as people left, waving people off and thanking them for coming. Once it was only close family, Oscar gave the DJ a nod and he played some slower songs so that they could share the beautiful moment once again. Their parents watched in admiration as they danced together as if no one was there watching them. The last song of the night was one of Oscar's favourites: You're Still The One by Shania Twain. He had picked it specially.
Oscar had never loved anyone this much. He held her close to him and he breathed in the sweet smell of her perfume. He hadn't felt like this before. He never wanted to let her go.
