Zane's POV

The clock read 7 AM.

Oh. My. Irene. I just slept with the princess of the Mermaid Kingdom. What have I gotten myself into...? 

"Mmm..." KC turned in her sleep, her pink hair sprawled everywhere. Jeez, it's extremely long. 

Anyways, I should really get up before she wakes. She looks really cute though. I wouldn't mind being her boyfriend if I was. Then I could legally watch her sleep. 

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???

Ugh, my pirate side is always getting advantage of me.

Narrator

Zane left the room and got the ingredients they bought together. He began to make breakfast when a sleepy meif'wa walked into the room. 

"Nya..." She stretched and yawned. "Morning bed head." He chuckled. 

Her hair was everywhere, and really tangled. She blushed madly, and covered her face. 

"You're lucky my cousin is lazy, because she always leaves stuff here." He left the room and came back with a hairbrush. "Turn 'round." He made a spinning motion with his finger. 

She did, and he started to brush her hair, being gentle with knots. 

He started to blush. He already brushed her hair, but at this point he had started to braid it. He smirked, his pirate side sweeping him over. 

"Have you ever had your hair braided?" He whispered in her ear. "N-no..." She looked down and blushed, smiling. "I see that smile~." He smirked. She covered her face, blushing. 'Heh, cute."

"Anyways, my cousin Scarlet taught me how to braid. She lost her parents and went to live with my family after with her sis Erin. Erin mostly hung out with Garroth, while Scar hung out with me and my other bro Vylad." (Basically my OC's story.) He continued to braid, rambling.

"There, done." 

(Just add pink hair color and ears and the dress and BOOM.)

"It's beautiful Zane!!" She twirled. "Wait, hold on. Don't move." He said, and ran outside. 

He came back inside with a white flower, and placed it in her hair. "There, now you're beautiful. Really... Really... Beautiful." He mentally drooled at her perfect figure. His eyes were hungry.

"Uhm... Zane?" She rubbed her arm nervously. "Oh! S-sorry!" He hit his head. 

I'm an idiot, what is wrong with me?!  Zane thought, mentally slapping himself. 

He coughed. "Sooooo, how is the Mermaid Kingdom princess life?" He glanced at the clock.

8 AM

"It's been fine, I guess. Other than living with 11 siblings, my life's been sort of-" 

"11 SIBLINGS???" He yelled, cutting her off. "Uhm... Yeah. I have a big family. And as you can guess, growing up was always a competition..." She said. 

He ran up to her and gave her a hug. "It's going to be okay..." He whispered, and looked at her golden eyes. She looked up at him. 

KC's POV

I lean in. He gently takes my shoulders, and leans in. 

The door knocks.

Zane pulls away just before our lips touch, and runs to the door. 

Dangit!!! I was so close too... 

I slump down on the couch, then remember I needed to keep my posture, so I sit up.

But what's the point? For all I know if I don't do this the Mermaid Kingdom might crumble down...

Narrator

"Garroth?? What are you doing here I was in the middle of something!" Zane yelled angrily. "Chill bro chill." He leaned up against the door frame, drunk. "I was... *hic* just wondrin' if ya wanted ta gooo murmaid huntin... *hic*" Garroth said. 

What's going on...? KC thought as she went up to the door.

"OOooo! You have a pretty *hic* girl with you~ Hi pretty girl!" Garroth slumps over to her and waves. "Hello..." She smiles awkwardly. 

"Why are you here??" Zane whispers to her. "I heard yelling, I wanted to make sure you were okay..." She whispered back. "Any-*hic*ways... does pretty gurl wanna go mermaid huntinnn' with us??" Garroth slurred. "Mermaid what?" Her eyes widened. "Mermaid... hunting." Zane sighed... KC gave him an extremely angry look. "W-we didn't c-catch an-anything!!!" Zane said, terrified.

"Actually... I caught this onceee." Garroth rummaged around his pocket and pulled out a pink scale. 

"There's... only one mermaid with pink scales in the kingdom..." she whispered, shaking a little. 

Zane realized what she meant, and grabbed the scale and slammed the door. 

"This is yours?!?!?!?" He held it up. "Y-yes!" She said, and he gave it to her. "Do you remember what happened?" He asked, sitting on the couch. She sat next to him.

"Yes I do... I was... going around the kingdom, saying hello to everyone. I wanted to see my human collection, so I went out of the kingdom towards it. Then, a hook came out of nowhere and grabbed one of my scales... I pulled away and my scale was gone. I spent the whole day in my secret area trying to calm down." She sighed, and looked down. 

"I'm so sorry..." Zane took her hand. 

"It's fine..." She shrugged. 

"They're only scales."
