Chapter 15

They had gotten her settled into their house decorating one of the empty unoccupied rooms in their five bedroom house. That was because they moved when Sage decided to live with them.

"Thanks for doing this for me" Sage says to her brother and his husband who were helping her move boxes.

"Can you tell us why you don't want a home of your own" Drew asks.

"Remember when the helicopter crashed. How when I came home I brought Kara back for Melissa" Sage asks the two men. "There were conditions I had to agree to. And they weren't great"

"And they are what exactly" Rick asks.

"The boss says I have to be ready to be flown overseas for missions with moments notice. But I get a week of a break between missions minimum" She confesses.

"That's not right" Rick says.

"I did what I had to do to make the people I love happy. And that meant getting Melissa's mom home" Sage says trying to see the bright side of it.

"I here you start training some medics tomorrow" Rick says changing the subject.

"Yeah it should be interesting. TC and his friend from Syria Amira are gonna pose as the school shooters while Drew, Paul, Shannon, Reagan, and Hood are in one group, Jordan, Adams, Jones, and I are in another." Sage says.

"Sounds intense" Rick remarks.

"I think that's the point" Drew jokes.

'Twas the Shift of the start of the military medics training program and all through the ER all the Doctors were stirring and running about.

"Ready to go out" Sage asks Drew.

"Yeah let's see how this goes" he replies.

"Reagan, Hood, Shannon, Paul we use our owns shots as cover to go over there to the victim" Drew instructs as shots ring out and he starts to run the group following him.

"I've been shot" the man I front of them says.

Reagan sees the shooters so she goes around a truck. Drew unbeknownst of it.

"Dead" Amira says taking off her mask.

"What the hell was that?" Drew asks harshly of Reagan.

"I thought I could take them down" She responds.

"By yourself? Your one job is to treat and protect the patient. And you'd be dead if this were a real situation, your unit left without a medic. So just think about that. Just because you have a Rangers tab. Having one doesn't make you invincible" Drew snaps walking away. 

"I'm related to the guy so I know when he's mad so spill it what the fuck did you do Reagan?" Sage asks the Woman.

"I thought I could take them down" She confesses "But I couldn't"

"He's partly speaking from experience. Dumbass was in Bagram, in an OR with Major Syd Jennings, she was doing an emergency C section on a Afghani women who's husband was a government official or whatever. Might I add this girl was only 15.  Her parents sold her. Anyway the husband walks into the OR middle of the surgery says he wants to take his wife and go. They say they can't do that and the guy pulls a gun. Drew not waiting for security wrestles with the guy when the gun goes off. Drew was sent home that day and Syds tour was extended" Sage says.
