(continuation of clarinets and coffee)
yoongi ran into the coffee shop ten minutes late. he frantically looked around for the orange haired boy, not wanting to set off his temper again. he finally spotted him at a corner booth with headphones in, leaned over a thick book. yoongi jogged over and sat down in front of jimin with a thunk. he tapped the table, trying to get jimin's attention. after a few minutes of trying and failing, yoongi waved a hand in front of the book jimin was reading. he got no response. he pulled the headphone out of jimin's ear. " jimin," yoongi said, using a quiet voice. the motionless boy made no sign of motion. " jimin," yoongi tried , louder this time. " i'm not sleeping , ms. smith," jimin yelped, as he sat up straight. yoongi laughed to himself quietly, as he leaned back into his chair.
the smaller boy looked much more relaxed but he still had prominent dark circles. " shall we order," jimin asked, his eyes still squinted against the light. yoongi nodded his head in affirmation. in a stroke of good luck, the line was empty.
jimin ordered quickly and tapped his foot impatiently while he waited for the other boy to order. yoongi finally settles on a plain black coffee. jimin reached his hand into his back pocket, fishing for his wallet, but yoongi beat him to it. " it was supposed to be my treat, " jimin muttered grouchily. " you being here is enough of a treat, " yoongi replied, a soft smile on his face. jimin's face lit up bright red as he hurried back to their table.
jimin had returned to his book and yoongi was pretending to scroll through his phone but was instead watching the other boy. "he's so cute," yoongi thought as he stared intently at the other boy. yoongi would've kept staring if he hadn't been startled by a voice yelling.
" order for a jimin and a yoongi"
jimin set his book down and got up. he bounced on the balls of his feet at the prospect of caffeine and fidgeted around as he waited for yoongi to get up. after yoongi got up, and jimin practically dragged him, they got to the counter.
on the counter, there were two drinks. one of them a generic, hot starbucks drink and the other a cold, pink drink. " jimin, i think you got the wrong drink," yoongi said as he motioned for a barista. the barista approached the counter and just as yoongi opened his mouth to speak, jimin cut in. " we just wanted to thank you for the exceptional service," jimin spoke, in a rush, grabbed the pink drink, and fled back to their table.
yoongi arrived at the table seconds later with an incredulous look on his face. " not a word," jimin muttered, as he angrily sipped his pink frappuccino. " i just didn't someone like you woul- ," yoongi started but was interrupted by jimin. "what do you mean " someone like me"," jimin asked, brows furrowed. " i mean someone in band. it can't be good to drink a sugary drink before you play," yoongi replied smoothly, jimin seemed satisfied with his answer and went back to his drink. " oh but i also mean someone with your grouchy personality can't like something so pink," yoongi added, as he continued to sip on his coffee calmly. jimin's head shot up, an expression of pure anger on his face. " i will inform you that society frowns down upon injecting raw caffeine into your blood stream so i will get my daily dose of caffeine in the form of this sugary goodness, and if you have a problem with that, fuck you," jimin yelled. at some point during that speech, he had stood up and now towered over yoongi. the entire starbucks was watching the spectacle and a few even clapped. jimin looked around and realized what he had done. he blushed a bright red and ran out the door, coffee in hand. yoongi , chuckling , sipped on his coffee as he picked up jimin's forgotten book and made his way to the door.
A/N if you want to try jimin's drink ( the cotton candy frap), go to your local starbucks and ask for a vanilla frappe with a raspberry shot. sadly, most locations don't sell them pink anymore but they're still delicious.
