yoongs:
do you want to go to hoco together?
jimin almost jumped with joy as the text lit up his screen. his longtime crush had asked him to the dance. he put down his pencil and picked up his phone, ready to reply enthusiastically.
yoongs:
hoseok canceled last minute
jimin's face fell as he put his phone down. oh. he should've expected that ." i mean who would love him with his trashy personality and even trashier appearance", jimin thought to himself. he put his head down on his desk and closed his eyes, willing the tears not to fall. the clock ticked as jimin continued to sit there lost in thought.
"i'll go ", he decided. all his other friends were fighting so it wasn't he could go with any of them and he'd rather not spend his homecoming alone. jimin texted back a yes and put his head back down, too done with life.
the day of homecoming had finally come. the last few weeks had been a whirl of buying tuxedos, arranging rides, and buying corsages. as he got out of his mom's blue van and spotted yoongi, he decided it was worth it. yoongi was waiting impatiently in front of the school. his pale skin and silver hair contrasted beautifully with his black tuxedo. jimin felt like the darkness to yoongi's stars but he was okay with that. he would be whatever to be with yoongi. jimin ran up the stairs and handed the corsage to his boyfriend. is that what they were ? boyfriends. " you were supposed to be here 15 minutes ago," yoongi replied, without a hello or thank you." "traffic," jimin replied, still lost in how in love he was with yoongi to care about his rudeness. at that moment, he didn't care that he was the second choice because yoongi had still picked him. "let's go in?" jimin asked, eager to dance with yoongi. " why not?" yoongi asked, disinterested as jimin grabbed yoongi's hand and dragged him in.
after they got their tickets checked and their pictures were taken, jimin dragged yoongi onto the dance floor. an upbeat song was playing but it suddenly shifted to a slower melody. yoongi, confused and slightly annoyed at the sudden change, stared at the DJ's booth . yoongi's eyes widened and jimin turned to see it too. standing next to the mic was hoseok in a navy suit.hoseok leaned into the mic and proclaimed," yoongi, i might be a little late, but do you want to be my date to homecoming? you complete me and i regret ever telling you i wouldn't go with you but i hope this makes it up?" hoseok strode across the dance floor and kissed yoongi. jimin stared at them, too shocked to move. yoongi pulled away first. " i love you too, dumbass," he said in that gruff voice that jimin had fallen in love with. yoongi leaned in for another kiss. there was a thunderous applause along with a chorus of awwws around the room. jimin slowly backed away from the kissing couple. jimin sped up as he tore through the school doors. he got into the ugly, blue van, not bothering to hold back the tears that fell down his face. he backed out of the parking lot as he pulled the van onto the main road.
he was such an idiot. why did he think anyone could love him? he was such an idiot. an idiot. the sound of a horn cut through his thoughts. he swerved in an attempt to avoid the vehicle but was thrust into oncoming traffic. his last thought before the darknesss took him was
" i hope they're happy"
