Hey, guys! Hope you enjoy this chapter and happy reading!
"I was born in a small village called Aurorea," Galaxy started. "Both my parents were blacksmiths, always dutifully doing their work, everyday, never missing a beat. They lived a quaint life, never buying any more than what they needed and they never had luxurious things. They managed to stay content and happy about their life, though.
"Then they had me," Galaxy smiled wistfully at the memory. "They named me Galaxy after the color of my hair and eyes. They said it reminded them how beautiful otherworldly things can be, that the unknown isn't always frightening. I was like any other child in the village, I liked to follow my parents when they brought me to their work, I was curious about the world around me, and I liked to play with the other children in the village. I was perfectly ordinary.
"At the age of five, though, I started possessing strange abilities. I could hear things that were a mile away, I could carry my parents' tools to them without breaking a sweat, I could levitate things.
"That's when the problems started," she whispered. "The townspeople learned of my abilities and called me a witch and my parents evil. For years they would ransack our house, chase us from the marketplace, even beat us," she cried. "My parents couldn't go to work anymore because a towns-person was always there guarding the blacksmith shop. I couldn't play with the other children because they felt the same way about my family as their parents did. My parents lost their jobs, we lost our means of money, and we lost much of our land. But depsite all of that, my parents thought it would all work out in the end.
"Then, one night, when I was fifteen, the townspeople were outside our door, with torches, pitchforks, shovels, anything that could be used as a weapon. My father tried to reason with them, that it was all a big misunderstanding, that we could work this out if we just hear each other's side. Suddenly, there was the sound of a gunshot and my father fell to the ground, dead. My mother tried to hide the two of us, but they found us in the end. She told me to run out of the house and to keep on running, to never stop. I ran out of the already burning house and heard my mother's scream, a gunshot, and then...it was silent.
"I ran and ran and ran until I couldn't feel my legs. I heard the people trying to catch up to me, calling me these horrible names. I thought I was in the clear when I suddenly tripped and they all quickly surrounded me. I had no choice but to hurt them. I didn't kill them, but... I left them lame for the rest of their life," she sobbed. "I started living in a forest near a town, worrying about what I should do next. After a lot of contemplating, I decided I would go to the nearby school. And that's when I met Kaley." she smiled at the familiar name.
"Kaley was my best friend, my only friend. She was the only one that showed me such bountiful kindness. I hadn't experienced kindness in a long time, not since my parents died. I didn't tell her about my past and she didn't ask. Until one day, her sisters came home while I was still there. I was so scared that I ran out. Kaley tried to make me talk to her until she gave up. As I was running back to the forest, I tripped on my leg and sprained it. I don't know why I didn't heal it myself, but I told a police officer to tell Kaley that I was in the hospital. Kaley came and found out some of my past. I told her everything I'm telling you now.
"Amazingly," she said. "She welcomed me into her life, still. I didn't need to change who I was. She just... accepted me. I stayed over her house that night after getting out of the hospital. I knew that I should have felt relieved and happy that she knew the real me and even accepted me, but something inside of me kept on nagging me that it was wrong to have given someone so much information on my past. I wasn't afraid of her, I was afraid what other people might do to her if they found out that she knew that I had magical abilities.
"So I left," she whispered. "I left in the middle of the night, not saying goodbye, not leaving a note, nothing. I knew I couldn't go back after the decision I made about telling her about my secret. So I registered for Hogwarts. I had heard of it a few times and couldn't believe my ears when I heard of it. I mean, a school that specialized in the training of young students' magical capabilities? It was like a disguised gift. I registered for it and surprisingly, the letter came very fast. They told me that I would be a Sixth Year at Hogwarts, because of my age. I didn't hesitate and came straight here.
"And that brings us to here," she smiled weakly at the group. They all continued gaped at her.
"Galaxy, I'm- this- I don't know how you could have survived all that," Elsa said. Galaxy gave a weak smile.
"At The Survival of the Fittest, why did you join?" Jack asked.
"It was finally a chance for me to become a part of something," she explained. "Being at Hogwarts makes me a part of something as well of course, but showing people what I can do as an individual means a lot to me."
Suddenly, Jack felt guilty for what he had thought and tried to do to her.
I'm such a jerk. he thought.
Jack was snapped out of his thoughts when Galaxy said, "It's not your fault, Jack. You didn't know about me and what my background was.
"Besides," she said. "I should be the one apologizing for how I treated you. The truth is, I actually admire on how you express yourself and you're not afraid to show your abilities," she bowed her head. "While I can't even seem to come to terms with my own." She looked back at Jack, and there were tears in her eyes. And in that moment, Jack suddenly saw what his other friends saw in her: Kind, forgiving, and strong. Jack reached over and patted her hand.
"Hey, no hard feelings," he smiled. "And as for your power problems, we can help you. We can work this out together." Galaxy smiled at him.
"Hey, Galaxy," Elsa said. "What exactly did you say to Fairy Godmother when it was your turn to show off your magical abilities?"
Jack looked at Elsa in surprise. So it wasn't just me who noticed, Jack thought.
Galaxy furrowed her brow in concentration, trying to remember the details, "Oh! After The Survival of the Fittest, my powers started acting funny. Sometimes, when I use too much magical energy, it can cause a disaster. The last time that happened was...when I injured those villagers that were chasing me, and I definitely don't want that to happen again. I told Ms. Fairy Godmother that and she was said it was fine if I just performed a simple spell."
"You call that simple?!" Jack exclaimed. "Imagine what your complicated ones look like!" Galaxy laughed.
"Sooo, wait," Merida said, her brows furrowed in confusion. "If you were the phoenix, and when we shot you with the arrow, why didn't you make yourself reborn again, like a phoenix?"
"I can't do that, since I'm not a true phoenix," Galaxy explained.
"Couldn't you have healed yourself when you turned human again?" Merida asked, still confused.
"It would take too much magical energy for me to heal myself when I was like that back there," Galaxy said. "If I had tried that, I would have healed the wound, but I would have died from how much energy I put into the spell."
"Oh, right, Gotcha," Merida nodded, finally understanding.
"Don't worry, Galaxy," Rapunzel piped up, "We'll help you get better!" The others nodded and voiced in their agreements.
Galaxy smiled wistfully. "You sound just like Kaley," she said. "I miss her so much," she whispered.
Anna gave her a comforting hug. "We'll be your friends, then! We can't replace the bond between you and Kaley, but we'll create a our own special friendship! Right, guys?" The others cheered their answer.
"I'm so glad to have such special people around me," Galaxy smiled, happy tears sliding down her cheeks.
"And we're glad to have you," Elsa beamed.
And in that moment, all of them formed a type of bond that would stay tied together forever, no matter what.
AN: Thanks for reading this! I hope now people don't think of Galaxy as a jerk anymore, if they still did. Hope you enjoyed reading this and see you in the next chapter!
