Those Random Thoughts

I don't know

  A tall, lanky man possibly in his early 30's sighs. He pulls out his chair and fall into it, clearly fatiged.

The man rubs his temples as he pulls out a recorder.

Hesitantly, he plays it....
 

Recording begins-

A long uncomfortable silence could be felt in the recording

Person 1: "You know...he...he wasn't always like this."

A young and feminine voice to be heard giving a small melancholy laugh

Inv: " What was he like before this...happenstance..."

Person: " Well he was...bright. He just had this glow about him...you...hah...you'd never want to leave him."

They stop and a tired sigh could be made out

Person 1 : "If he were a color he'd be a beautiful yellow. One that would be impossible to hate."

Inv: " Refrain from using color analogies..."

Person 1: "Sorry."

Inv: " When did he start showing signs of-"

Person: " He was a very creative person and he knew just how to...I actually don't even know how to describe it..."

Inv: "Could you maybe...try?"

The Female hums in response

Person 1: "They would uh...they'd take a pencil and the moment it touched the page you'd be in awe...you'd think, 'how?'"

She laughs

Person 1: " Did you know- I said I saw him as yellow.....once I actually told him and him kind of...kind of...you know what he said? He said 'Why? Yellow is absolute obnoxious..!' I thought...I didn't think he meant it literally."

Inv: "You two were close right? Would you say....on an intimate level...?"

The female gasps

Person 1: "Wha-!? Isn't this being recorded!!? Why...how would this help you? Won't others be hearing it...???"

Inv: " I'm sorry, it's mandatory..."

It's silent for a moment before the young lady sighs

Person 1: "Well no but umm...I uh...uggh-"

Inv: "You know? You don't have to if-"

Person 1: " Me and him...we used to joke around and call him 'asexual'. He never liked anyone beyond platonic so it was....mine was pretty one sided..."

An the awkwardness at that moment clearly made both people uncomfortable

Person 1: "So um...do you think he'll be out soon...?"

Inv: " Sorry....I'm not at liberty to say...."

Person 1: "...........oh."
