I want to live
In a world without
Selfie deaths and
Terrorism threats;
No Muslims bullied and blamed,
Or racism inflamed;
No people being shot,
Or psychos running amok;
No walls are built,
And homophobia is a guilt;
No lovers leaping off cliffs,
Or stabbing each other in the ribs;
No throats being slit,
And no abusers exist;
Where depression is imaginary
And suicide is just a theory,
Hateful words unheard
And slavery was never a word;
No borders based on skin
& humanity would win.
Hello everyone! A huge thank you to everyone who stuck around for this, and welcome back :)
This poem has been wandering around my head for a while...it just makes me so sad that people are letting materialistic things, power and the fear of the unexplored as an excuse to kill or hurt fellow humans.
The selfie accidents? I have nothing to say about that honestly. It just shows how much social media and social pressure can drive people to take unnecessary risks.
And all Muslims being blamed for ISIS? That is just plain stupid. I don't think if terrorists had a religion at all they would run around killing masses of people.
If all the Muslims in the world were actually terrorists (>1.6 Billion) , these narrow minded excuses of humans wouldn't stand a damn chance.
