I can confirm something after working for Mr. Reid for a week.
He's an actual pain in the ass!

He's been giving me mountains of work ever since our little 'incident' during the meeting.

In all honesty, I don't care how much work he gives me, in the end, it'll all be worth it.

I was in the middle of replying to a client's email before getting a phone call.

"Hello this is Mr. Reid's personal assistant, how may I help you?"
I said in one breath so I don't get interrupted.

"Hey! It's Victor, nice stance, have you been practicing that all night?"
I blushed, I have, don't judge.

"Hello Mr. Norton, are you calling for Mr. Reid?"
"No, actually I was calling for you and please call me Victor"

"Okay," I said shyly.
"Ms. Downs, would you care to join me for dinner? What time are you getting off work?"

I mean don't get me wrong Victor is a nice guy, not only handsome but polite too, but I don't want to prove Mr. Reid's theory about me 'flirting' with his clients.

"I'm sorry Victor, I just don't know you well enough to accept going on a date with you and you can call me Julie"

"Julie it's just one night I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend" he chuckled.

"Alright, I get off work at five, pick me up at six?" I said, trying to keep my slowly unwinding dignity.

One night won't do me any harm, right?
"Done, just send me your address"
"I don't have your number, sir"

"I thought I said call me Victor"
I huffed.
"Fine, how about I give you a nickname, Victor is way too long"

"A nickname? Really Julie?"
"No seriously tell me, Vicky or Vick? Which one do you prefer?"

He started laughing into the phone.
"You're unreal, those are both girl names but I prefer Vick over Vicky"
"And what's wrong with Vicky?"

I heard the door to my office open and I gulped at who was standing there fuming.

"Hey, I'll call you back" I whispered into the phone.
"I'll email you my number, bye"

I looked back at my boss and my brown eyes connected with his blue ones, I held eye contact until he looked away.

I cleared my throat.
"Mr. Reid"
"Ms. Downs, I don't pay you to talk on the phone all day, do I?"

"Well sir, I finished everything you asked me to do, I was going to come back and ask if there's anything else I have to attend to"

He sighed.
"Do you have to retort to everything I say?"

I kept my mouth shut, he looked tired, like really tired, I guess even with a personal assistant you still have tons of work to do.

"Sir, are you okay?"
"I'm fine what do you mean 'are you okay'?!"

I got out of my seat and walked towards him.
"Ms. Downs, what are you doing?"
I ignored his question and placed my hand on his forehead.

I gasped.
"Sir, you're burning up!"
"I said I'm fine"
"No, you're not fine! Stop being stubborn!"

I grabbed his hand and made him sit on the office sofa.

"Lie down"
"Don't tell me what to do"
"Just do it" I groaned.
"Fine"

He laid down.
"Have you eaten anything since this morning?"
He didn't answer.
