We came back to the hotel and when I opened the bedroom door I collapsed on to the bed.

I recalled the conversation I had with my brother and I didn't expect it to be this civil, I imagined it to go horrible and we'd end up hating each other.

But it was the exact opposite, all he wanted was my forgiveness.

The second I closed my eyes my phone started to ring, I groaned pulling my phone out of my jackets pocket.

My eyes widened and I gulped the ID on the phone read...
Mamá...
I'm so dead!

"Hey mom!"
"You stupid excuse for a daughter!"
"Ma-"

"I call you twice expecting my precious Juliana's voice to be on the other line, but no! of course you had more important things to do than speak to your old and worried mother, I had to call Katrina to make sure you weren't killed!"

"Mom, calm down, breathe in, you're over exaggerating, I'm sorry, I should've called you and told you I was going to Chicago"

I got my over emotional and anger issues from my mom, if you couldn't tell.

She sighed.
"How's Chicago?"
"Um, eventful?"
"Why am I sensing that was a question?"

"Because... I'm working on a business case" I'm not completely lying right?

"You're not a lawyer or a detective! Why in the world are you working on a case?!"
"Mamá, remember your health" I huffed.
"I'm not that old" she hissed.

I heard a knock on the door.
"Ms. Downs" came Mr. Reid's voice.
"Give me a sec" I yelled back.

"Is that a man's voice I hear? I swear, if I find out you didn't answer my call because of a man, I'll not only kill you but also that man!"

"Mamá, please he's my boss, don't quickly go ahead and assume things"

"Whatever, go see what your oh so important boss wants from you"

"Oh mom, please again I'm sorry, but you should know I'll always love you, so stop worrying, I won't leave you"

"Okay, okay, I forgive you, love you too"
"Adiós mamá" I chuckled
"Adiós"

I hanged up and made my way towards the door, Mr. Reid was standing there looking annoyed.

"What took you so long?"
"Sorry I just had to take the call"
"It's fine"

"So what is it Mr. Reid?"
"I never got to tell you in the car because of our little 'debate' I had just got off the phone with Peter"

"That reminds me, I had checked your schedule last night sir and it didn't say anything about a meeting, so where were you?"

"Why did you check if I had any meetings or not? I thought I gave you the day off?"

I blushed looking down.
"It's my job as your assistant sir, I do that even on weekends, to make sure you are on time and I haven't made any mistakes"

"Alright, back to your question, I had gone to meet with my lawyer"

Not even a freaking thank you! Okay!
"What did he say?" I gritted out.

"I told him to get the work done as soon as possible, as soon as in taking him to court and hopefully winning the case, the attorney is already doing his job by helping me file a civil rights suit against Grant"

I nodded this is slowly unfolding and hopefully we'll be able to quickly go back to New York and not only will I be able to settle my life professionally but personally too.
