Dark grunted as he slashed the ghoul across the throat, black blood splattering him across the face in the process. The substance was thick like a gelatin and he forced a stoic expression when in reality, he was on the verge of puking.

One of the demons, who he already forgot the name of, had the other ghoul pressed into the ground, wielding a knife and jamming it into the side of it's head. The third lied unmoving several feet away, butchered into unrecognizable pieces.

Dark wiped his sweaty face with the back of his hand, his chest heaving from the exertion. The ghouls were strong, he'd give them that much. He didn't believe Infelix when he said the demons before him couldn't handle it, but now he might've.

A clawed hand placed itself on his shoulder and he looked over to see one of the elder demons standing there. He too was covered in the black plasm substance, they were all a mess and Dark couldn't wait to go home and shower.

"You did well today, Dark," he complimented gruffly, "you're young, much stronger than the rest of us old timers. You'll do excellent in Lucifer's place."

Dark nodded, a sense of accomplishment filling him. "Thank you, Sir," he replied respectfully.

The demon eyed him for a second, almost as if he was looking into Dark's soul. He felt exposed, but he didn't dare move away, mostly because he was too nervous. This guy could kill him in a blink of an eye or worse banish him to an eternity of suffering.

"You're in love," the demon observed, grinning and eyebrows raising.

Dark's cheeks flushed and he looked to the dirty floor, rubbing the back of his neck and chuckling, "Yeah, I am."

He received a strong clap on the back and boisterous laugh that almost seemed mocking. He knew he needed to show respect, but the second anyone chastised what he and Anti had, he wouldn't hesitate to make them pay.

When the laughter finally cooled, the demon spoke, "You know, a demon's love is more powerful than you think, especially when you have the status that you have. You'd kill for them, you'd die for them; it's a force not to be reckoned with. And judging by the way you hold yourself right now, you must love him a lot."

"I do, I love him more than anything-wait, 'him?'" Dark looked at the demon with a frown and knitted brows, "How did you know that?"

The demon just chuckled and backed away, waving a hand that opened a portal back to his own land. "My dear boy, you may be stronger than us, but you are not wiser. That comes with age and experience," he smiled, stepping through the other dimension. "Now go on, I know you're dying to be with him."

Dark stared at him as he disappeared, completely dumbfounded. There was a lot he had to learn from those crazy, old bastards.

He sighed and teleported himself back to his throne room, expecting to see Anti curled up on his chair but he was met with emptiness. Not even Infelix was in there, which was odd but didn't want to worry. The last time he fretted over Anti's whereabouts they got into a fight, they were probably wondering around the building.

It was designed like a castle and if Anti woke up, there was a chance he'd want to go exploring. Dark hadn't had the chance to wander around the place himself, he had too much work to do and too many meetings to go to.

But now it was late and Dark could go home. He was completely exhausted and he wanted nothing more than to take a nice hot bath with his little demon and go to sleep with him in his arms.
