Hogwarts AU Drabble

    Okay so Stepbrother AU, Jeremy and Michael are best friends, Jared and Evan are "friends."

    The accidental magic, though. Absolute chaos with Evan's anxiety making plants grow everywhere and the boyfs causing chaos with their magic when they get too excited playing video games or whatever. I would mention them smoking, bc accidental stoned magic sounds like a narrative goldmine but they probably weren't doing that as fifth graders, so...
    Hogwarts, after the war, has decided to open its doors internationally to especially gifted witches and wizards.
    Mr. Weasley (who would be baffled and thrilled by Jeremy and Michael's video games just think about it) is sent to New Jersey to talk to Mr. Heere and Heidi about Evan. Evan is terrified but is assured that Jeremy can join him in a year and Jared's going too, so that's nice.
    Evan just being a blubbering mess in Diagon Alley. The family went with to help him shop. He was grateful for them, especially Jeremy and Michael (who would also be going in a year) messing around in all the shops. They were able to distract him from being super overwhelmed.
    Evan and Jared share a train compartment with Connor, who's also on his way from America. They don't talk.
    Evan's anxiety is the worst during the sorting. He almost faints.
    Evan is a Slytherin. His housemates all terrify him.
    Jared is a Ravenclaw. He's super salty. He'd rather be anywhere else, bc he just got labeled a nerd and he's more than a little offended bc he's brave and he's loyal and he's cunning and ambitious, but fine. Just plain smart will have to do.
    Connor is a Hufflepuff.
    Evan's first year is awful. He sends owls home a lot. He sends owls to himself, too.

    Finally, Jeremy and Michael are coming to Hogwarts. They're ecstatic. But then they get sorted into different houses and panic.
    Jeremy Heere is a fucking Slytherin fight me. It's good for both him and Evan that they do have someone to help them (more than) survive in the often toxic environment of the house.
    Michael is a Hufflepuff.
    But a boyf riends Slytherin/hufflepuff friendship/romance. Gold.
    Michael is Connor's first friend. This cocky first year approaches the lonely twelve-year-old and actually talks to him, which no one else has done in so long.
    Zoe is also a first year. She's probably a Gryffindor. When Evan develops his crush on her, the house rivalry gets in the way too.
    The boyfs ignore house separations. They don't really even follow the Great Hall seating chart.
    The boyfs freaking when they realize they won't be able to play video games for months.
    They play wizard chess and gobstones and exploding snap and everything they can get their hands on instead. They still definitely miss Apocalypse of the Damned.
    Boyfs quidditch rivalry. Jeremy is a chaser. Michael is keeper. In later years, once they've gotten together, they'll often end up making out in the locker room after a game.

    Some of the plot of DEH happens. One of the owls Evan sends to himself ends up going to Connor on accident. Michael tells him that Evan Hansen is that one Slytherin kid who's stepbrothers with his best friend Jeremy.
    Connor confronts him and chaos.
    Idk if Connor would actually kill himself. I think he would probably try, sneaking poison from the potions classroom.
    If he dies, then maybe we could do something with a portrait or the resurrection stone.

    Jared just sort of floating around making snarky comments about the boyfs and tree bros.

    If the Squipcident is a thing, then Jeremy takes the Squip (potion?) and it turns out to be kind of like the the imperious curse. He hangs out with the popular pureblood Slytherins and a handful of Gryffindors to try and woo the Hufflepuff Christine. Michael eventually figures out how to break the spell with this other potion (that's bright red). The play could be at a feast and the Squip gets Jeremy to spike everyone's goblets with the potion.
