We all were making the love potion and were going to put it in cookies.

"All right. It says that we still need one tear, and we never cry." Mal sighed.

"Let's just chop up some onions." Jay pulled an onion out of a sack.

"No, it says that we need one tear of human sadness. And this love potion
gets the best reviews, so we have to follow it exactly." Mal told him.

"A tear's a tear," Jay argued.

"That's not true, Jay. They both have
antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear." Evie informed.

"Listen to you." Mal smiled.

"Go Evie." I cheered.

"Yeah, I knew that." Jay scoffed.

"Did not." Carlos hit his arm.

"Yeah, I did." Jay nodded.

I just rolled my eyes.

"There you are, Mal!" Loony suddenly came in.

We all quickly covered the spell in the spellbook as Mal kept spooning innocently.

"I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair!" Loony then saw that we were making something.

"Midnight snack, huh? What you are guys making?" She asked.

"Nothing special. Just cookies." Mal shrugged.

Then out of nowhere Loony dipped her finger and tasted the batter.

"Oh, no, no! Wait, wait, wait!" We all tried to stop her, but it was too late.

"What? I'm not gonna double dip." She said innocently.

"Feel anything?" Evie asked.

"Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal asked.

"Something very important?" I asked.

"Hey, there.'" Jay stepped forward and smirked at her flirtatiously.

Loony just look at him confused.

"It could use some chips." Loony shrugged and went to the fridge.

"Chips?" Jay questioned.

We all sighed in defeat.

"And those are?" Mal asked.

"Chocolate chips. Just the most
important food group." Loony carried a bowl that had things that look like little brown buttons. She put them in the batter.

"Wait, didn't your mom ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies?" Loony asked.

Chocolate chip cookies?... I thought.

We all looked at her completely lost.

"Like, when you're feeling sad and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and-" Loony smiled.

Damn it Loony... I thought.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" She asked confused.

We must have looked really pathetic.

"It's just different where we're from." Mal sighed.

"That's one way to put it," I mumbled.

"Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought... Even villains love their kids." Loony voice began to go down as she began to realize our reality.

If we don't succeed they'll never love us... I thought.

"Oh, how awful." She grabbed my hand for comfort.

I looked up and saw a tear slip her eye. My eyes widened as I nudged Mal. She looked, wiped the tears off Loony's and put it in the bowl.

"Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams." Mal let her out of the kitchen and waved.

"Goodnight. See you tomorrow." Loony smiled confusedly. and left.

"Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, oven. Scarlett, spooning." Mal instructed and the plan continued.
