Bellamy's POV

A week had gone by and Murphy and I had the baby room set up completely. I help Murphy straighten out his tie, glancing up into his eyes.

"Ready?" I ask him, smoothing out the fabric and smiling softly. John smiles back, getting up on his toes and kissing me gently.

"As I'll ever be. We're about to meet the newest member of our family." I say nothing in response, just smiling as I take his hand in mine. We wander through the house, finding ourselves in the room we have designated for our child. The white walls were decorated with tiny animals and the little pale blue bed looked perfect in the space. This house is the perfect spot for John and I to start our family. This house is our home now. The doorbell rings. They're here. Straightening our my sweater, I head down the hall to the front door. Taking a deep breath, I grip John's hand and open the door, revealing a short, larger set woman with a small child standing close.

"This is the Blake's home, I presume? I'm Nygel, the caretaker of the Polis Orphanage." She says politely, holding a hand out to me. I release my grip on Murphy hand to shake hers.

"Yes. Bellamy Blake, we exchanged emails. This is my husband, John." I introduce, gesturing to John as he stood proudly next to me.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am." He says, shaking her hand and smiling curtly.

"Oh, the pleasure's all mine. I'm glad that little miss Alexa here might finally get her perfect home." She smiles, pushing the small, brunette haired girl forward just a bit. She look up at us shyly, giving a small smile before scooting closer to Nygel. "Now, I would like to do a quick safety scan of the home before I leave Alexa in your care." She states with a smile.

"Of course. Come in." I say, stepping back and opening the door farther. Nygel walks in, the little girl following close behind. I lead us all to the living room.

"Now, I'm going to have a look around. If you two would like to stay here for a little bonding time, you are welcome to do so." Nygel says before walking off into the house. John nods and sits down on the couch, Alexa standing awkwardly in the center of the room. She looks around, a tiny stuffed bunny clutched in her hands. I see amazement in her eyes as she takes in our rather large home that she can now call her own.

"It's nice to finally meet you in person, Alexa." I say, breaking the silence. We had video chatted with Nygel and Alexa in the week leading up to her arrival, but meeting her in person was so much better. We were told that after Alexa found out she was going to be adopted, she went wild with excitement. Apparently she was dropped off at the orphanage when she was just and infant and she had spent her whole life in the system. She says nothing in response, so I sit down next to John, watching her looking around the house in awe. All of sudden, she drops her bunny and runs to the couch, jumping up and hugging Murphy and I. Instinctively, both John and I wrap our arms around her, hugging her tightly between the both of us.

"Thank you. Thank you so much." She cries, few tears rolling down her face. Murphy wipes them away with his thumb, kissing her forehead.

"You're welcome, darling. You're home now." He says, his voice seemingly soothing the girl. She sits up, her small body wedged between the two of us.

"I never thought I'd have a home. Thank you for giving that to me." She whispers. I can't help but smile at the beautiful little girl. She was very articulate for a girl that was only eight years old. She must have been through a lot.

We sit and talk for a few more minutes while Nygel finishes up her check. Over that period of time, we have managed to learn the her favorite color was blue, she loved horses and bunnies, and that she wanted us to call her Lexa, a name her best friend had given her.

"All clear, boys. I just need you to sign a few more papers and you'll be good to go." She say with a smile. John and I happily sign, claiming Lexa as our own. The whole time, she stood between us, bouncing excitedly on her toes.

"Alright, Mr. Bellamy and John Blake. Say hello to your new daughter. Alexa, say hi to your daddies." Nygel beams. Lexa squeals in excitement and John leans over, picking her up in his arms. I wrap my arms around the both of them, hugging them tightly. This is my family now and, damn, do love them. I help Nygel bring in the few bags that Alexa had brought, carrying them to her room. Murphy helps her unpack everything, making jokes with her the whole time. I smile at the pair and continue picking up the empty suitcases and stowing them away in the back of her closet. By the time we were done, her walls were covered in her favorite drawing and pictures she had cut out of magazines. All her clothes were sorted and put away and Lexa was absolutely buzzing with joy. I stand at the doorway, admiring the room. John stands next to me, his head on my shoulder.

"We did it, Bell." He says quietly. That's when Lexa walks up to us and wraps her tiny arms around both of our legs, hugging us the best she could. I glance down at her, putting my hand on her back and rubbing it soothingly. Looking back at him, I kiss him briefly.

"It's only just begun, John." I respond, gazing back into the room of the daughter I now had, with the love of my life. Now, my life feels complete. This is where I'm meant to be.

I don't really know how adoption works, so please don't bash me if this isn't quite right.
