Love at first Hiccup (Niall Horan Love story)

Chapter 18

Amanda's POV 

" I'm sorry, let me go get doctor Johnson. "  

We were currently in my doctors appointment and the nurse had started the ultrasound but there was no heatbeat. I looked up at Niall with a scared look on my face to see him looking at me with the same expression.  

After a few minutes a man walked through the door, he looked to be in his mid fifties. 

"hello, how are you this morning?" He asked looking at us, standing next to the machine thingy. " fine thank you" I said politely smiling at him. 

"ok so lets check how your baby is doing." He told us, putting some more gel on my belly and took the stick thongy and moved it around. 

"this is the head and these are his legs." He told us pointing at every part of the baby's body. 

"ok lets hear the heartbeat." He pushed some buttons on the computer and looked up at the screen. "That's odd" he said pushing some other buttons and moving the camera around.

He then put the stick in its place and pushed the machine to the side of the bed looking at us when he was done. 

He took a seat and looked down, after a second he looked back up and took off his hat, you know the blue paper one doctors use. 

"Listen, this is not easy to say." I felt Niall squeez my hand. "This things happen alot to young couples, we don't know why, but they just happen." I had tears running down my face by now and so had Ni.

"We didn't find a heartbeat. I'm afraid you've lost your baby. But you guys are still young and you can try when your older you know. I do not know why this happen, seeing you are almost 5 month pregnant, but it just did....I'm so sorry, ill give you guys some time to talk." After that he stood up and left the room.

I stood up from the bed and put my cloths back on, not even looking at Niall once. 

As I put my shirt on I hear a small whimper and I know by a fact that Niall was crying. I finish getting dressed and turn to Niall and just like I had suspected he was sitting on a chair crying. That made me want to cry but I held it in and looked down.

"uhm...we should get going babe."  He looked up at me and nodded standing up and wiping his face. "Yeah, come on." He took my hand and we both walked out the door and into the car." 

When we got home I walked straight to the living room where SkittlShuttle was. When e saw me he instantly made his way to the couch where I was sitting and put his head on my lap.

I pet him a little and then I hug him, letting the teats fall freely. I heard Niall telling the others what happen and a little while later I felt him next to me.

I let go of Skittles and hugges Ni, by now I was sobbing. I was really looking foward to having this baby.

A few hours later I got a phone call from Doctor Johnson. " Amanda, we need you to come to the hospital tomorrow, it seems like the machine was broken." And those words brought just a little hope inside me.
