Frisson (Diabolik lovers)

III. My first impression

I snap out of my daze and turn around to face a tall red haired guy with greenish eyes and a fedora. He was smiling, maybe even smirking, but his smile was not a warm one or comforting - it was creeping me out. 

"So you must be our new sa..."
"Student. She's the new exchange student in your school." Tougo interrupts his son.
"Yes, my name is Lauren Shizuka Nakamura, nice to meet you all." I bow down to show respect towards my creepy new roommates.
"Please take good care of me."
"Oh trust me, we will, nfu~" Everything in his voice made my heart beat faster... And not in a good way.

"Laito. Stop this nonsense." Tougo snapped at his son, who I assumed was named Laito. Laito's face showed disgust while looking at his father.

"You are not allowed to do anything usual until I tell the details at the mansion. Until then, please restrain yourselves." Why is he talking like that? Why is he basically ordering them them to restrain themselves?
And restrain themselves from what? I have a really bad feeling about this and by 'bad' I mean REALLY BAD.

"I'm very sorry about the rudeness of my brother. My name is Reiji and this unsightly creature is Laito." What an adorable and supportive family they are. I take a look at the others - they look like they are highly displeased with something. Is it because of me? Are they angry because they had to come here? But no, Laito was smiling until his father started talking. And papa himself had no patience with his boys. They must have an awful father-son relationship. I wonder what happened...

"Now, without waisting any more time, I'll introduce you to my boys. The one basically laying on the limo is my eldest son Shuu. The one that already introduced himself is the second eldest - Reiji. Third is Ayato. He's the red haired one without a ridiculous fedora. The fourth one with a toy is Kanato. Fifth one is Laito, but you already know that. And my youngest is Subaru."

They were all somehow intimidating looking... Including the one with a teddy bear. Even though it wasn't THAT strong, I could feel threat and power radiating away from them. The same feeling that Tougo was giving off in the airport or any particular moment. For some weird reason I felt tension in the air.

"N-nice to meet you all." And I stuttered again. I'll make myself look like a weak girl who's afraid of her own shadow. I don't want that.

"Ha! She's a stutter." Ayato found this hilarious. I was perplexed. I really wasn't expecting this on our first meeting.
"And she's already shivering like a newborn kitten."
"It's chilly out here," I said in my defense. It was actually getting really cold by this time, because of the night approaching and the snow.

Wait... I took a better look at them all. They were all dressed up so lightly. It seemed as if this freezing wind had no effect on them. Are they not cold? Are they not going to get sick?

"Oh, forgive my inconsideration. It must be really cold out here for you. Boys, bring her to the limo and go home. I'll come with a different vehicle later. And remember - be hospitable."
"Yes, father." Reiji was the only one that answered.

I took this as a permission to walk towards the limo. Driver took my luggage and stuffed it into the trunk. Brothers were already inside the car. I breathed out, still shivering. It's good that it was cold - cool air helps to calm down. I stood there for a little while, enjoying the sight of falling snowflakes.

"Are you waiting for a red carpet, Shizuka-san? Please get inside the limo - we don't have time for the scenery sighting."
"Okay, sorry." This Reiji guy managed to be rude but also polite at the same time.

I got inside the limo.
"Considering the circumstances, you will sit between me and Subaru."
"Tck." Subaru seemed to be annoyed by me. Did I already do something wrong? And why do I have to sit here? I'd rather sit with Kanato. He seemed to be harmless enough - that childish appearance and all. Or Shuu. Shuu was already sleeping. He would be a perfect companion for the first trip. But I did not want to make a first impression of a rude person so I obliged to what Reiji had ordered.
