"LAITO! GIVE ME BACK MY TEDDY!"
"Nfu~ I don't have it," Giggled the red haired vampire. "Ask Ayato-kun."
"He said you took it," Said poor boy with a sob. After ripping Teddy apart for Yui's sake, Kanato carefully and meticulously stitched his toy up. It was as good as new, if not even better.

But now Teddy went missing and Kanato was freaking out with worry.
"When was the last time Ayato told you the truth about Teddy, hmm?"

"AYATOOO!" Kanato ran towards his mischievous brother. Angry tears were making it harder to see where to walk, but Kanato managed it - he used Subaru's 'destroy all in one's path' technique.

"WHERE'S... MY... TEDDY?!" Small vampire choked out through sobs.
"I don't know, now back off you little brat - my feet hurt and I'm tired."

"Where is he..?" Kanato didn't know what to do. He already searched through the house and garden. He even checked on the roof. Nothing. As if Teddy ran away and jumped into the lake all on his own.

"The lake!" Kanato was ready to search even the lake, but Laito grabbed him by the back of his clothes.
"Don't be so rash. Where was Teddy the last time?"
"The dungeons."
"Here you have your answer."

"Which is wrong. Looking for this?" All three vampires turned their heads to face Karlheinz, who was holding a big enough present bag to put Teddy into. Kanato's heart sank with terror. His father, of all people, had Teddy. Poor boy knew where this was going - it was his turn to receive the punishment.

"No... Not Teddy... Anything but Teddy..."
"You know it would crush him completely, right?" Laito asked angrily. Subaru could handle an annoying therapist, Shuu could survive the desert and annoying camel. Even Laito could go through two months of his personal hell, but not Kanato.

Teddy was everything for him and all four vampires knew it. That was the reason why taking him away was the best punishment.

"Today I'm generous. I will let you choose: Teddy or your brides." Kanato's legs couldn't hold him up any longer. He fell on the ground, with his hands supporting him. This could not be happening.

"No!" Tears were streaming down Kanato's face. He was trembling like an aspen tree leaf.

"Choose what you want to keep or I will destroy them both." Kanato was shaking his head vigorously. He couldn't make such a decision so fast. He needed more time.

"Father... Please..."
"Thought so. Say goodbye to your collection and this bag."
"GIVE ME BACK MY TEDDY!" Kanato suddenly lunged at his father, but Karlheinz smacked him away like an annoying fly.

"Let's go to your doll house, shall we?" He pulled his barely conscious son by his hair and walked outside the mansion.

The building where Kanato kept his dolls was already splashed with gasoline and every single wax figure was soaked with the flammable liquid.

"Look, my dear son, this is what happens when you don't listen to me." Karlheinz yanked Kanato up so he was touching ground with his knees.

"And here goes your teddy." Karlheinz threw the bag across the room. Kanato reached out for his Teddy.
"Teddy..."

Karlheinz lit up a lighter and set on fire a dress of the closest bride. Immediately, the entire room lit up with an explosion.
"No..." Kanato was silently sobbing again. Everything that was precious to him was being rapidly consumed by the destructive force of the fire.

Who could have thought that fire of all things is going to destroy everything Kanato held dear. All he could do was silently cry as the tongues of the flames burned down his dolls and Teddy.

Karlheinz slowly walked out of the flaming building while pulling the crying Kanato behind him.
"I love parenting," Karlheinz sighed happily. He let go of the devastated boy once they were in a safe distance and left.

Kanato was lying in the grass, watching, how the fire turned the night into a day. Slowly, fire ceased, leaving nothing, but ashes and bare walls.

Poor vampire boy slowly stood up and walked inside the previously fancy room.
"There's nothing left... Not even Teddy." Kanato kneeled down where he saw Teddy the last, but there was only a pile of ashes. Kanato was the only colourful thing in the entire building. He was like a lonely wild flower in a burnt down field.

He tried digging through the ashes but there was nothing left.

"Come on, Kanato-kun, let's go." Laito walked inside the building.
"He took away everything." Kanato clenched his fists in frustration. "EVERYTHING!" He hit the ground with both of his fists. "And I didn't even do anything bad this time. Why is he like this to us? Why!?"

"Because he's a self centered bastard. But it's not that bad, Kanato-kun. We will have plenty more brides for you to have." Laito pat Kanato's shoulder. Usually, they didn't show any kind of affection towards each other, but today was the day when some temporary changes had to be done.

So far, Kanato's punishment was the worst any of the Sakamaki brothers had to face. Other brothers had to do some hard or embarrassing things, without suffering any major loses, but Kanato was different. He lost something he was emotionally attached to, something, that he held dear, something, that somehow managed to keep Kanato's emotional state a bit under control. But now, it was all gone.

"Come on, let's go get you some cake. That old geezer didn't think of burning down the sweets." Kanato obeyed to his brother and followed him to the kitchen. He already missed Teddy, his hands felt a bit too empty.

"Wash your hands and sit down - I'll get you your cake." Kanato's movements were monotonic, he seemed to be out of this world. When Laito put the cake in front of his brother, he didn't even pick up the fork.

"Won't you eat?"
"Not hungry." This was really worrisome. Kanato has never refused to eat something sweet.
"As I said, you will make some new dolls, now eat up." Kanato slammed his fork down.

"I couldn't care less about those wenches! But he burned down Teddy! Teddy!" Kanato was bawling his eyes out once again.

"Okay, Ayato, enough with this." Laito's cheerful voice made Ayato come into the kitchen.
"Kanato, you have to be grateful to have such an amazing brother as Ore-sama."

"What do you mean?" Kanato failed to notice that Ayato was holding something behind his back.

"Look at what I've managed to save." Ayato pulled out the the thing that made Kanato jump across the room.
"TEDDY! You're alive!" Kanato pulled Teddy into a tight hug. Vampire boy was crying once again, but this time it was tears of joy.

"How?"
"Today I decided to prank you again by hiding away Teddy. I put it into a bag and threw it in the pool. That old geezer was trying to find it, but couldn't, so he just used a pillow as a decoy."

"You saved Teddy... In return, I will share my cake with you."
"Ore-sama will gladly eat some with you."

§Five minutes later§

"HOW DARE YOU EAT MY PIECE OF CAKE?"
"THE ENTIRE CAKE IS 'YOUR PIECE OF CAKE!'"
"JUST EAT YOUR STINKY BALLS!"
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THIS TO ME AFTER I SAVED YOUR STUPID TOY!?"
"YOU DROWNED HIM IN THE POOL!"

"And here they go at it again," Laito chuckled.

I'm sorry this chapter wasn't that funny _| ̄|○ There was no way to make this funny (。ŏ﹏ŏ). For me, Kanato doesn't really associate with comedy _(_^_)_. Hope you liked it anyway •̀.̫•́✧.
