Chapter 3

First day pa lang pero ang dami na agad happenings. Nakakainis. Hindi naman dumating ang next professor namin kaya wala kaming klase tuloy. Nasa cafeteria kami ni Camille. Kumain na lang kami para daw mag destress. Nakakastress talaga.

"Abby." Si Vince na lumapit sa akin.

Ayoko sana muna sya makausap pero even before I answer, inunahan na nya ako.

"Don't run on all of your problems. Learn to face it immediately. Learn to be strong enough."

How could you tell me that thing? You do not even know what I am feeling right now.

"I do not want to talk with you."

"Please Abby. Let us settle things between us. Ayokong nahihirapan ka."

I look at Camille searching for her help but she only manages to nod.

She advises to face what Vince has to say.

"Guys, alis muna pala ako. May bibilhin lang kami ni Mark sa bookstore. Abby, just text me ah kapag may problema. Vince, humanda ka sa akin ha." So it leaves Vince and I here. Hinayaan ako ni Camille. I should man enough to face my fears.

"Noted Camille." Sagot ni Vince na syang umupo sa upuan ni Camille kanina.

"Abby." Vince called my name.

"Yes."

"Next time, learn to face everything unlike kanina na you ran away from me."

"That is just too much to handle that's why."

"Let me know if sumosobra na ako but I promise myself na I will not let this day passed without talking things to you."

"Ano bang dapat pa nating pag usapan?" He made it clear kanina na he won't pursue me.

"I want for you to know na andito lang ako. We may not be possible for now pero I believe na our right time will come if we are really meant to be. But I will do everything for us to be meant to be."

"I don't know." I never had the chance to think that Vince and I can be together.

"That is what I want to tell you. Everything can be possible meaning hindi lang kay Daniel umiikot ang mundo mo." And here goes his name again. Am I really blind na si Daniel lang ang nakikita ko dati?

"I know. Mali ako. Mali ako na inisip na si Daniel lang ang mundo ko. Pero you can't blame me na nagkaroon ako ng feelings sa kanya. Feelings can't be manipulated. It is something that just came."

"I know that. Pero what I am trying to insist is if you could open your eyes and see other boys around."

"Like you?"

"I hope so. I hope na makikita mo ako at ipaglalaban mo ako kay Daniel."

"I don't know Vince. What I really feel about you is us, still being friends."

"I know. That is why I am convincing you to like me. I sound pathetic over there."

"Why? Why are you telling me to like you?" Sobrang litong lito ako sayo Vince.

"Because I like you. I want to make you happy. I want to be the one who is the reason behind your smiles in the future."

"I don't know Vince." I am not rejecting him yet I also do not want to give him the chance to think that we can be together anytime soon.

"I can wait. But I will just pursue you if alam mo na sa sarili mo na wala ka ng feelings kay Daniel because if the time comes, kung papipiliin ka between Daniel and I, I hope ako ang piliin mo."

"Vince."

"You are a good person and a good person like you deserves a good person like me." At napatawa na ako making me comfortable around him.

"Kahit kelan ka Vince. Loko loko ka."

"Are you accepting my offer?" Balik seryoso ang loko.

"What offer?"

"Kasasabi ko lang Abby. I will pursue you and will make you the happiest girl everytime na you are with me as long as kaya mo na akong piliin over Daniel."

That was big.

"No problem with me. Pero one more thing, can I have a favor?"

"Hmmm. So what is that favor?"

"I hope na we will still remain friends after this. Friends muna. Diba dun naman nagsisimula ang lahat? Friendship can be the strong foundation of a long lasting relationship."

"Long lasting relationship. I like that ha." At tinawanan ako ng loko.

"Hoy seryoso ako."

"Yeah. I know. And yes, we are still friends but not forever."

And that made me laugh again.

"Thank you Vince for understanding."

"Anything for you."

We just continued our happy conversation until we heard a loud bang near.

"Ano yun?" Halos lahat ng katabi naming mga estudyante ay nagulat din.

"I'll check." Si Vince pero pinigilan ko na. The security guards can handle it. Baka mapano pa si Vince.

May isang estudyanteng humahangos patungo sa isang grupo na malapit sa amin.

"Si Elize. Si Elize. May bago na namang target."

So that is Elize.

"Girlfriend daw ni Daniel yung bagong kaaway ni Elize."

Si Shei!

Elize must have heard the news. Daniel is with his girlfriend already. So kaya hindi kami masyadong nagtatagpo ng landas ni Elize ay dahil may bago na syang target.

I saw na tinawagan agad ni Vince si Daniel matapos ding marinig ang usapan sa kabilang table.

Sabi ni Vince in good terms na sila ni Daniel meaning hinayaan lang ni Vince na iparaya ako kay Daniel pero wala naman akong future kay Daniel eh.

Then I remembered Vince's words kanina. He's asking me to like him. Because if that happens, he can pursue me fully unlike now na sya ang matatalo sa huli.

I understand everything Vince.

You are also protecting your feelings. That's why. Everyone is vulnerable if their feelings are being hurt.

My thoughts was vanished ng dumating si Daniel.

"Vince! Where is Shei?" He is so concern with his girlfriend. You must be.

"Try to look at the garden. Everybody says it is in the garden." Sagot ni Vince.

And Daniel notices me.

Sana ako na lang ang girlfriend mo. Nakikita ko kase kung gaano ka concern. Too bad, hindi ako yung nasa sitwasyon.
