Dave shoved his bony elbow into my side. "Da fuck?" I ask, looking up at him.
"You just called my brother hot." He was trying to keep his voice down. Not that he was mad. He was, however, giving me the 'I can't believe you just fucking said that he's right there' face. Which to any one else just looked like he had raised his eyebrows in a questioning matter.
"Well yeah, because he is." I started to rub my side. "That really hurt, you shit head."
I could feel him rolling his eyes behind his shades. "Good, that was a warning shot." I knew he was telling the truth. Dave could hit way harder then that if he really wanted to. Though he knows that hitting me full force would give me grounds to hit him back. Strifing on the first day, not ideal.
Looking back up at Dirk, I really wanted to run up and hug him. Tell him how much Dave and I missed him. But I took Bros words into consideration. Dirk hadn't had much physical contact except when Hollywood would crawl into his bed at night, after being gone for a few weeks, just to leave before Dirk woke up. Physical contact, would scare the shit out of him.
"You guys really grew up." His voice was amazing. It just added to his totally hot factor. But his accent was almost completely gone. Like the only reason why there was a hint of it there at all was because he'd been here for a few hours.
"Well yeah, the last time you saw us we where 7. That kinda what happens when you get older. You grow up, go through puberty. Girls get boobs and guys get," I paused, looking over at Dave. Seeing as the only facial hair on his face were his sideburns and well eyebrows. Both the same color as his hair and almost not visible.
"What?" He looked down at me.
"I thought guys were suppose to have facial hair." Biting my lip, I tired to see if he actually had some and I just couldn't see it.
He turned his face away from me. "Fuck you, Keehl." Great, now he's pouting.
Perfect time to fuck with him. "I bet Bro is real disappointed in you, for the fact that you can't grow facial hair. He's probably all like, 'Man I'm so disappointed in Dave. He can't grow facial hair, only true Striders have facial hair'." Daves face was actually starting to turn a slight shade of pink. "You should have been there when he went through his voice cracking point in puberty. He was all like." I was cut off by Dave putting his hand over my mouth and his other hand on the back of my head to keep me in place.
"So, how 'bout we get you moved in."
~
By the time we got him moved in and put all his stuff where he wanted it, I just wanted to go to sleep. But I stayed awake so I could talk to Dirk more.
I was leaning against Dave as we sat on his bed, with Dirk sitting across from us on his bed. I was barely listening to a word they where saying. That is, until I felt Daves body go stiff and he became no longer comfortable to lean against. "What?" I sat up, my question directed to anyone who could answer it.
"I was just wondering if you both were dating." Daves reaction made a lot more sense now.
"Why'd you wanna know that?" I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks but I chose to ignore it.
"I could have swore Bro told me you guys were dating." He seemed genuinely confused.
"We aren't. Nope. Not even a little bit." My brain started to race. This was one way to make a sleepy person wake up. I sat there mentally freaking out as I waited for Dave to play the role of the guy that says that he thinks of the girl as a sister and they could never date, but he never said that. He just agreed that we weren't dating. "But please remind me to totally ruin Bros day the next time we see him, K?"
Dirk nodded. "Sorry, I just figured I'd ask, since you kind of act like you are."
I just wanted Dirk to shut up. I had a total school girl crush on Dave and out of some luck he hadn't noticed. But if Dirk keeps talking on this subject I might just kill myself internally. Because Dave is bound to fucking find out.
Dave shrugged next to me. "Eh, I guess we do. But that's just cus we're really close. No harm in that I don't think." He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into a side hug, slightly ruffling my hair. "Right Aria?"
I tried to focus all of my energy in not having my face turn as a red as a stop sign when he did this. I was to unprepared for this. "Yeah, we're just hella close." He un-tucked me from in his chest but kept his arm around my shoulders. I started to feel slightly awkward as we all sat in silence for a moment. "Um, I think I should go." I stood up to leave the room but Dave grabbed my wrist.
"Why? What's wrong?" Poor thing. He actually look concerned.
"It's nothing. Just tired and I should probably get all my sleeping stuff out of the boxes before going to sleep." He let go of my wrist, sighing.
"Okay. Yeah that's probably a good idea. Well, goodnight."
"Yeah goodnight, Aria."
I walked over to the door, opening it slightly. "Goodnight guys. Sleep well." I grabbed my long board that was leaning up against the wall next the door then left.
~
few hours later (dave's POV)
I was laying in my bed facing the wall, trying to get to sleep, when I heard Dirk get up and walk over to me. "Hey, Dave. You still awake?"
"Yo, what's up?" I turned my head to look up at him.
"I can't sleep." He rubbed the back of his neck. He was only wearing a pair of sleeping pants, just like I was.
"Something wrong?" I rolled over so I could look at him more comfortably.
"Do you mind if I sleep in your bed with you?" He seemed generally embarrassed. Like he was some child that had a nightmare and was asking his parents to sleep in there bed.
"Yeah bro, that's fine." I scooted back and he laid where my body was before. He pulled the covers over his body and curled up slightly. I turned back to face the wall and did the same. "Night bro." I got no response, he was already asleep.
