When I wake up, Ester's light snoring is filling the tent along with the sound of small raindrop pellets stabbing the tents and the ground. Liam and I are still hugging each other, we fell asleep like this. I lightly and gently unravel myself from the cheeky boy and and careful taking my legs away from Ester, climbing out of the sleeping bag. Zayn is snuggled into his bag with an old and dirty bear cuddled into his arms. Aw, that must be a toy he's had since forever.
I climb out of the tent having woken Ester up anyway and she follows me lazily to the box we keep all the food in. I take out a box of CT Crunch and search for a bowl. There are no clean ones, so I wash one out with a water bottle and my hands before I dry it and pour myself a bowl of breakfast. I get the milk from the cooler and pour it into my bowl before putting it away, grabbing a spoon, and putting on my hood so I can eat my cereal by the fire that's been put out over the night. I take the first bite, listening to myself crunch the food, staring at the burnt wood. All I smell is rain and wet leaves. I wish I could have woken to the morning fire smell, that would have made nose feel happy.
After my cereal is eaten, I put it with the other dirty dishes and grab the lighter fluid and some dry sticks, which took a while to find since everythings wet from the drizzling rain. I toss the sticks into the fire and squirt lighter fluid all over the wood before lighting a match and tossing it into the pit, making it light up with flames. Heat radiates towards me almost instantly.
I grab the little mobile sink that can't run water over to the spot I washed my bowl and start washing all the other dishes to spare some time before anyone else wakes up. We only have little portable bottle of soap, so I have to use about half of it to clean all the dishes so we can actually eat. At least we have paper plates instead of plates, that would a whole new set of dishes to do. We should have brought paper bowls too. Damn the world.
Ester sits down next to me after doing her morning business and watches me wipe down bowls with a rag and water bottles. I'm on one knee with the other one bent up, my cheek resting against it. I'm in a white baseball tee with navy blue sleeves, grey sweats and my brown moccasin slippers.
When the dishes are done, I put them back in the sink and carry them back to where the sink sat before and stack the bowls on top of each other in two piles, carefully setting them in box with the other two clean bowls. Now, we have ten clean bowls. The same number we had when we got here.
I look down at Ester, who's been following me the whole time. She makes a whiny noise and looks to Louis' tent. I look at the tent and then back to her. "Wanna go to Louis?" I ask her. That whiny noise is her response. "Okay, c'mon." I nod my head over to Louis tent and walk over there, her running ahead of me and doesn't stop moving her feet out of anxious. I open Louis' tent just enough for her to jump in and then I quickly close it. I don't want him to think I'm creeping or anything and get mad at me again, or even more.
Speaking of Louis, Harry hadn't really confirmed yet that he kissed him back. This ruins my morning mood of doing chores. I really just want to go home now and cuddle with my Mum. I just wish my face would heal up before then.
"Morning, Niall." I look up from walking back to the fire and at Max, who's walking out of the tree's and towards me with a smile. "Morning, Max." I return the smile. He's wearing a NorthFace waterproof jacket with the hood up, black jeans and white Vans. "Why you up so early?" He asks. I shrug. "A lot on my mind. Why are ya?" I ask, nodding at him. He lifts up his camera. "Pictures. The lighting is really good in the mornings." I nod. "How'd you get way over here so fast?" I ask. He shrugs. "I actually don't know. I was following this snake and-" "There's a snake?!" I practically yell, forgetting that people are sleeping. Max laughs when I clamp my mouth shut to quiet myself. "It was a Corn snake, don't worry. He's harmless." I roll my eyes in relief. "Thank you Jesus."
