"Niall, Lux is feeling really good today and I can't bring her to work with me because we are so busy today. She does not want to go to the hospital today, seriously, she would rather die." I grin at the phrase Lux probably used. "Will you take her to work with you? I know you wouldn't mind it but your boss might." I bite my lip, thinking if Jay is that cool or not. "Yeah I guess I can try and get her to yes if she say's no." I shrug, having no problem spending the day with Lux. "Thank you, I gotta go but Lux is still getting dressed so she shouldn't be long. Bye, love you." Mom kisses my cheeck and I kiss her's too. She yells an , "I love you!" To Lux before she leaves out the door.
"Lux come on I'm gonna be late!" I yell from the couch, still waiting for her. Lux doesn't respond, soI get up, worried, and go into her room. "Lux," She's not in here. What? "Lux!" I call, waiting for a reply. There is none. I walk to my moms room to see if she could have fallen asleep on the bed she loves so much, but she's not there either. I'm about to check the kitchen in case she some how got passed me withot me realizing it, but I don't even get to the living room until I hear a noise in the bathroom. "Lux," I knock on the door. There's a long pause before she responds. "I'm in the bathrom." "Obviously." I chuckle. "I don't think I should go to work with you." She mumbles so I can barely hear her. "What do you mean?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrow's now worried about her sudden change in mind. "I don't want to get the toilets all bloody and make you or someone else have to clean it up. I don't want the sympathetic looks everyone always gives me. I don't want, all that stuff." Lux sounds sad, but I know she's not crying. She doesn't cry easily. She never has, even as a baby.
"Pincess, open the door." I try to open it in case she didn't think to lock it, but that's the first thing she did. "I'll just stay in here until someone comes home." I then hear her throw up again, making me swallow and taste it in my mouth. "Babe, I'm gonna pick the lock." I warn, grabbing the special key that sticks to the top of the door. It's just like a thick needle, and at the end swirls into a loop so yo can hold it. You just stick it in the hole and push the lock, and boom its open. Lux doesn't know about the key though.
I open the door, seeing Lux sitting on the floor using a rag to wipe her mouth and drink some water. I sit down next to her, pulling out a pack of gum that I always keep in my pocket, holding a piece out to Lux. She takes it from me with a grin, rippng it in half for me to have the other half. I smile too and we both pop it our mouths at the same time. "Don't worry about my work. All yo have to do is flush the toilet, and I have no problem cleaning the toilets if I have to. I have before a few times, and no one gives yo sympathetic looks when they see how happy you are regardless of your condition. Even if just don't pay attention to them. I got an app on my phone I think you'll like." I nudge her and she sighs. "Do they have cookie dough?" Lux raises an eyebrow of curiousity. "Do think I would be working there if we didn't?" Lux giggles and stands up, flushing the toilet and and washing her hands. "Good. I'll be at the front door." I kiss the top of her head before I go to the destination I told her I would be waiting at.
"How long do you work?" Lux asks after a while of being seated on the bus. "If I tell you, you'll change your mind." Lux rolls her eyes and takes off the bandana covering her head. I watch her stuff it in her pocket, not wanting it on. "You don't it today?" I ask her, wondering why. "No, it's itching my head." Lux scratches a patch of her bare skin, still being able to see a shadow from where her hair used to grow. I smile a toothless one, wrapping my arm around her shoulders and pulling her closer to my side. "You're more beautiful without it."
"Thank you Jay, she won't be in the way." Jay shakes her head. "It's not problem, I took my nephew to work with me once and he was pretty helpful. Just, don't let her back here I'm doing a realy big pizza order for a really lame birthday party. If you need to make a pizza then make it at that little metal tabel you always make them at." Jay waves me off, beginning to make some dough. "Course. Thanks again." I go up to the front to see if anyone has walked in, but they haven't. "You're in charge of up here." I point to Lux, who's sitting on a chair in front of the register. She gives me a thumbs up and I return it, starting to make personal size pizza's for if someone wants one, and a few normal size pizza's.
