America and Canada walked downstairs together.
Alfred felt his family's eyes on him, he didn't even feel like giving a fake smile so just walked to the couch and sat down.
"Alfie," Florida started, "Aren't you gonna eat?"
He looked at her and forced himself to smile, "I'm not hu-"
"Yes you are," Canada said.
America started to frown, "Mattie, I-"
"At least eat some toast," Maria said sadly, "Please?" She said softly, looking straight at him.
He nodded and walked to the table, and his sister got him some toast. He picked it up and felt a dreadful feeling come over him.
Did he have to eat this?
The faster he ate it the faster he could get it done with.
He lifted it up to his mouth and ate half of it, not even bothering to touch the eggs. He got up and went to sit on the couch.
"Al," Argentina said, "Aren't you gonna finish that?"
"I'm not that hungry," He just responded before sitting on the couch.
Canada gave him a look and opened his mouth.
"Please Mattie," Alfred said weakly, "I'm not that hungry."
His brother just sighed and closed his mouth.
Alfred saw Diego reading something and frowning, it looked like a letter, "Uhh, D? What does that say?" He asked.
Diego quickly put it away, "Oh nothing hermano, don't worry about it!!"
America nodded, he didn't believe his little brother and just decided to read it when he was alone.
As he looked at his family and Lithuania said, he noticed how tired and sad they looked.
Even the states, territories, provinces and cities looked tired.
He did that.
He caused that.
"I'm sorry guys," he whispered looking down, "Your people are suffering because of me."
"Mr. Ameri-" Lithuania started but was cut off.
"No!! Don't tell me everyone make mistakes or that this wasn't make my fault!! It was!! You all know that!!"
"Alfie," Venezuela said but she was also cut off.
"I did this!!" Tears were falling, "Millions of people are dying because of me!!!" The tears were picking up.
"Al," Canada walked towards his brother who took a step back.
"Stay away from me Mattie," He backed into the wall and slid down it, he put his arms around his legs, "I'm a monster."
"No, your not."
"Yes I am," He said before his eyes widened.
He could feel them.
He could them suffering.
His people, they didn't deserve this.
