And God help you
if you are a Phoenix
And you dare to rise up from the ash.
A thousand eyes will smother with jealousy, while you're just flying past.

This was it.

This was the day.

The day Alfred would be attending  his first world meeting in a long time.

12 years to be more specific.

To say that he was nervous was just an understatment.

"Does he really have to go?" Mississippi asked.

The Americas minus Alfred all nodded.

"It's been a long time plus the depression's is finally over," Maria said.

"Fine," Texas said, "But if the countries say anything offending to Al," He got out his gun.

"I got it Tex," He ruffled his brother's  hair.

"I guess we should go now," Canada said, the others nodded.

Their younger siblings/ cousins didn't  look so happy about that but nodded.

Texas gave America one of his guns in case he decided to use it even though  Alfred already had guns of his own.

Alfred was taking deep breaths as he and his family walked to the meeting room.

He remembered  what the countries said to him last time he was at a meeting and winced, "They still hate me Mattie, I bet they meant what they said to me." He said and looked down, "Their not gonna apologize."

Canada sadly looked at his brother, "Maybe they will."

America sighed and they walked in, once they did, countries looked at him.

"Where have you been this whole time?" Cuba asked.

"I had to handle some things bro,"

Some countries scoffed at that.

America winced and quickly sat down. He thought that the countries who insulted them were gonna say sorry and that they didn't mean it.

But they hadn't yet.

The topic of the meeting went to countries' market stocks since the crash.

Spain went up to talk, "My economy has been barely improving," he was looking straight at America, "People are losing jobs and their homes. Children are being put in orphanages."

America felt countries glaring at him and looked down, he nervously raise his hand, "I think I have a solution Spain."

"Will it lead to another crash?"

America winced, countries all started to yell their anger about the crash at him.

Maria slammed her hands on the table, "Everyone shut the hell up!!!"

It got quiet.

"At least the market's been getting better. You guys are forgetting that my brother also suffered from the crash. Now, if you don't have anything else on topic to say Spain," she spat, before giving him a murderous look, "Sit the Hell down."

Spain quickly went to his seat.

Alfred saw England looked at him and made sure not to make eye contact.
