I survived because
the fire inside me
burned brighter than the fire
around me.

Since he hadn't been going to meetings lately, Alfred spent his time doing other things. Flying in his plane was one of them.

Which is what he was doing right now.

He smiled as he looked down at the ground.

All of a sudden another plane flew by, he watched as it  did some twirls and spins. He flew a bit faster and saw the pilot look at him. Alfred did some spins of his own, looked back at the pilot and mouthed 'challenge'. The other pilot nodded.

They both did a few spins and loops. The other pilot suddenly started doing a dive.

America wondered what they were doing and was becoming a bit worried.

When the pilot was suddenly almost to the ground, they pulled up. Before going back down and landing on the runaway of a small airport.

America lowered his plane down and landed on the runaway next to the other pilot.

"Nice flying," The pilot said before taking off their helmet.

Alfred seemed surprised a bit. After all:

It wasn't everyday you see a female pilot.

He smiled, "You too."

Amelia Earhart.

That was her name.

Countries knew all of their citizens' names by just looking at them.

"Amelia," She smiled and stretched her hand out.

"Alfred," He stretched his hand out too and shook hers.

"Really nice moves you got there flyboy," She said, "You fly often?"

He nodded, "That little pull up at the last minute stunt was pretty good."

She laughed and smirked, "Pretty good?"

"Okay, okay," Alfred laughed, "It was really good."

The two went to a diner and talked for awhile to get to know each other more.

They joked around and laughed alot, one woman came up them and said that they were a cute couple.

"We're not a couple," They both blushed.

"Just friends," Alfred said smiling at Amelia.

"Really good friends," She smiled back.

Alfred happily walked into his house and into the living room.

"Someone looks happy," Maria said, "What? Did you meet someone?" She joked.

"Actually yeah," He smiled.

"What!?!" She said shocked, "Who!!?!"

"Her name's Amelia," He said happily as he sat down at the table, "She's a pilot," He started to talk about the challenge he had with Amelia and the about the diner.

"She's a really talented girl," He smiled as he thought about Amelia and her flying skills.

Basically all of Alfred's sisters and female cousins were around the table now.

"So are you two a thing or.....?" Illinois asked.

Alfred quickly shook his head, "No, we're just really good friends."
