Often it's the deepest
pain which empowers
you to grow into
your highest self

America woke up earlier then Canada and got ready before heading downstairs. He wore a sweatshirt, the clothing hanging loose on his thin frame.

Alfred hadn't been eating that much since the meeting discussing the Great Depression. He was very thin now.

Dangerously thin. His ribs were showing -you could count each bone. His cheeks were caved in, and his eyes barely shone anymore.

It scared his family, they were trying to get him to eat, but he barely would.

He walked into the dark living room. The lights weren't on, and he wasn't gonna bother turning them on. He just sat on the couch, started to sit in silence, and stared into the darkness.

Surely, if he died he wouldn't be missed, right?

Like, come on people, let's face the facts:

1. He was always yelled at for poking his nose in someone else's business.

2. He was pretty sure most countries hated him at the moment.

And let's not forget the big one!!!

Number three!!

He had caused the world to fall into a an economic crisis.

See, if he was dead -even better- if he was never born, this wouldn't have ever happened.

He wondered, if he died...... would they dance on his grave?

Surely England and France would, Spain...... he didn't seem like the type, but who knows? Maybe he would too.

America just kept staring into the darkness.

What was his purpose of being born?

Was it to become the world's number one superpower, but then cause chaos with an economic depression?

Cause it sure seemed like that's what he was meant to do.

He got up and decided to turn on the TV, it was on news. America froze

Should he watch this?

It was only gonna talk about the economic crisis.

And the lose of jobs and the people who lost them. They all had families that needed that money. Some needed that support.

And families who were forced to put their children in orphanages.

And the many people committing suicide.

He started to shake and tears started to fall.

He fucked up. He fucked up so badly.

'Why the hell are you crying?  You're the one who did this'

He reached a shaky hand towards the remote before stopping.

No, he needed to see what he with his dumbass self did.

He turned the volume up and sat back on the couch.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen around the world," The newswoman said, "I'm Becky Ronaldson live from D.C. We have more news about the global economic crisis. There have been over 16,000 recorded deaths due to suicide since the crisis began over two weeks ago in the United States."
