Lia's POV
"Lia Maria Dawn!" I heard what sounded like my angry father shouting because well, it's past midnight...
What excuse should I put on, now?
"It's almost one in the morning, young lady!"
"Dad..it's literally five past twelve," I walked up to him, a daring chuckle trying to break through the way.
"What kind of hangout lasts that long?"
"It was a date," I sighed, giving up my denial. It was a date, and that's pretty much the only excuse I've got.
It was a date.
Was it a good date?
He stood, his mouth slightly hung, pretty much speechless at the truth.
I couldn't blame his dropped jaw. The loner Lia was on a date.
"With Jackson?"
"Yeah, we had a little picnic by the park, and he was actually just by the door before I got in."
He slowly started walking to the couch, and I followed him, appreciating the fact that he's not angry anymore. "Come here."
I sat down beside him, seeing how he's rubbing his forehead slightly from frustration, "how did it go?"
"It went well," I smiled softly at his reaction. My father and I never had talks about boys, dates, or love in general. I know too well that he's a hopeless romantic, though...and I really wish he'd find his love sooner rather than later.
I literally cannot wait for another woman to join our house.
"We had a park picnic, we walked by the lake and then we drove around the city until we got home. It was nice."
"That was all?" He smiled, one side of his lips tugging to form a slight smirk.
"Yeah," I readjusted the falling hair strands, watching him shake his head.
"Come on," he teased, before doing kissing noises, making me laugh at his actions. "Did Lia have her first kiss?"
"Nope, Lia was too shy to have her first kiss with a good school jock."
"Why?" His eyebrows wrinkled, the smile on his face never fading. I shrugged, starting to doubt my decision. Even my father thinks I should've kissed him. "You know we have that good lips heredity trait amongst our family. Good lips mean great kisses."
"Dad!"
"Okay, okay. Now come on. Time to sleepy, sleepy for you to wakey wakey early."
I nodded, jumping off the couch to jog to my room. I started undressing before my phone rang, Dr. Hayden's name coming in view.
Quickly accepting the call, I brought it to my ears, softly croaking out, "hey."
"Hey, how did it go??" He excitedly inquired making me slowly bite my lip.
He sounds like an overly excited teenage boy and I don't think I've ever heard something more pure.
"So far so good," I giggled, slipping my shorts on and jumping onto my bed, "he even mentioned a second date. A fancy one."
"Perfect," I could sense a smile in his voice which reflected onto me slowly. "Did you get a kiss?"
"Nope."
"What?! Why?"
Oh god..."do you guys not understand how hard it is to lose a first kiss?"
"Err, maybe it is, yeah. I'll have that noted as another thing to talk about with you," He stated sternly and I internally fell. That's a sensitive topic. "Do you wanna crash in for the night? We mentioned a visit to mine, a week ago."
