Caitlin's POV
~Dreaming~
Hurrying around the cottage that was tucked away in the middle of an darkening forest, I grabbed and collected everything I would need, I neatened things up and fluffed the pillows as I waited for someone to arrive.
I'm not sure who - but all I knew was that someone was coming, and that someone was very important.
Looking around the cottage as the fire crackles and flickers a bit, making me walk over to some lone dead candles. Picking up the match box that had laid next to it, striked it and lit the surrounding candles.
Walking into the kitchen I pulled the oven open and checked on the roast, smiling I turned the oven off and pulled the roast out of the oven before I set the table and sat down in my spot as I faced the empty place opposite me.
Picking up my knife and fork I began to eat while sipping on lemonade, that was until there was a knock on the door. Putting down the knife and fork I wiped my mouth on a napkin before I stood and started to make my way to the front door, smoothing out the pink dress I had found in the wardrobe hours ago.
Opening the door I came face to face with a snout and pale green eyes, "Hello Miss, I've been expecting you." My mouth formed the words as the wolf blinked at me and bowed her head slightly, "Would you like to come in?"
She shakes her head and pulls away from the house and starts to walk towards the forest, "Hey! Wait!" I hurried after her, leaving the door wide open and the food on the table to become cold. My bare feet barely touched the earth under my feet as I scampered after the wolf.
We were quickly gobbled up by the forest and while I kept my eyes trained on the abnormal sized wolf I moved expertly through the forest, the pink skirts of the dress slowly dragged and tried to pull me back when they got caught on the greedy arms of tree's.
"Please slow down, I won't be able to keep up much longer." I called out to the wolf while trying to untangle myself from some branches that clawed at my skin, hair and the dress that I seemed to have a growing hate for.
Suddenly I stumbled out from the forest into a clear area with the wolf sitting in the middle, facing me.
"Thank you." I breathed out in relief and hurried towards her. I stopped in front of her and we stared at each other for a moment before I reached out and held my hand out for her, she eyed my pale hand and for a few minutes she didn't move.
She slowly leans forward and her nose connects with my palm, smiling I stepped forward against and ran my hands over the top of her head, running her brown fur through my fingers. My eyes scanned over the calm wolf as my hand scratched behind her ear - earning a push from the wolf who pressed herself against me and tried to guide me to scratch a specific spot.
Giggling I continued to pat and scratch her while we enjoyed the silence that surrounded us as the full moon shined down on us.
The silence was broken though, by growls.
The wolf stiffened underneath my hands and quickly pulled away from me and snarled at the edge of the forest. Chewing my bottom lip while I watched the forest with the wolf, "We should head back now, it's dangerous out here." I called out to her, suddenly she turns with wide eyes and started running towards me.
"What the-" She jumps up, gasping I ducked as she flew over me and I turned to see her tackling another wolf. Standing up I watched in fear as they snapped at each other and clawed at one another, and then they rolled into the forest and I lost sight of them.
