"Would you pass the peas please?" Dream asked from across the dinner table as I did.

My family was big on dinnertime dad made sure we all never missed it, and mom made sure to have something on the stove worthy of us to eat since we all were very picky.

"LeBron has a big game ahead and he could use extra support so I was hoping you guys could join," Chyna announced.

"When is it?"

"This Thursday," she answered.

"I have work," Dad told her as Lauren quickly followed and mom was talking something about a book club.

"Well, don't look at me." Dream mumbled.

"I'll go," I spoke up.

"Oooh!! Maybe you can bring Nas-" she tried, adding as I kicked her foot underneath the table.

"Thank you! He honestly needs all the support he can get' his coach said that this is the big game that determines rather or not he gets signed to the NBA." Chyna detailed.

"I always knew that boy would be great!" Dad stated.

"That's good Chyna; see when are you all going to start bringing home doctors, lawyers, ballplayers... you know guys with ambition?" mom questioned us as the table got quiet'.

I stared over at Lauren who was already looking at me; shit none of us was dating them kinda dudes' it must hurt mom to see Chyna be the only one with a successful guy.

"The only guys in my life is daddy and Jesus." Dream bubbled.

"My little angel." Dad cooed.

If you saw how we act around our parents' verses when they aren't around you'd die of a laughing fit. We acted like angels in their presence, dressed different, spoke different, even treated each other different, I think we had them fooled but I could never tell for sure.

"Nicki..." Mom started as I gulped down the lemonade in my glass "I saw Drake on our drive and he's gotten really handsome."

"Hey, Now!" Dad inserted getting jealous which made mom smile. Yikes!

"-as I was saying he is a good guy that has his head screwed on right' you should really consider giving him a chance." she finished.

"He's perfect for you," Dad decided "he's one of my best workers and since I've never had a son of my own it would be amazing to pass the business down to the husband of my daughter."

"Uhm..." I trailed off; why me? Why not Lauren or Dream "Drake and I are friends we've been knowing each other since we were in diapers dating him would be like dating a bro-"

"Your father and I started out as just friends and look at us 17 years late.r" she reminded, placing her hand on the table as dad held it. I just stared at their wedding rings then back down to my food which I couldn't really enjoy.

"So I helped deliver a baby today," Lauren stated, switching the topic to her job which was as a doctor' assistant.

"That's nice dollface, what was it?

"Can I be excused?!" I asked.

"No."

"Yes, now Darren don't start let her go..."

I threw down the hand towel and walked out. I couldn't believe that I was runner-up in carrying dad's business not even to own it myself though but just to be the girl of the guy that would own it, this isn't fair. I ripped off the burgundy cardigan I wore then took out the hairpins in my hair one by one. They were trying to ruin my life I was convinced and nobody could tell me otherwise.
