Strengths and Weaknesses (CURRENTLY BEING EDITED)

Chapter 7

I sat there tears running down my face. The place was messy; papers scattered, vases broken, chairs flipped over. This man came over to my house, destroyed it, and harmed one of the only people I trusted dearly, one of the relatives I've got left in my family that is alive. I just got a message from the hospital, informing that my aunt might not live. I guess all of the trembling and the hard push impacted her badly... Long life, she has lived. Almost a hundred years of experience...

And it was all ruined by one simple lie from Claude. Claude. I have to approach him on what happened. He caused all of this. I get up, and put on my shoes. I cleaned my face to discard the tears.

After minutes of struggling to hide evidence of crying, I headed for the door. I was stopped by the buzzing of my phone.

I looked at my phone and it said:

Dani °_° :] ;]

Hey, we need to talk. Meet me at my house. ASAP

To: Dani °_° :] ;]

Alright, just let me go to Claude's house first for a serious talk, and then I will meet you there.

Dani °_° :] ;]

Actually, that is what I wanted to talk about. But anyways, meet me here ASAP.

After that message, I got out of my house, and headed across the street to Claude's house. I knocked lightly three times before someone opened it. Out came this girl with light-brown hair, hazel eyes, and tan skin. She stood there and waited for me to say something.

“Um, may I speak to Claude, please? Or is he not home?", I asked, trying to look over her shoulders inside the house but it was blocked from view.

She looks back into the house, and smirked. “Well, he is here, just busy", she says, leaning in towards me. “You know what he is doing? We were in the middle of something. If you know what I mean", the girl whispers, devilish grin forming. Those words shot at me like actual bullets. Tears started to form in my eyes, face getting red.

“Well, just tell him Clarissa was here, and if he has time, that his girlfriend needs to talk to him", I says, tears traveling down  my cheeks now.

As I started to walk away, I heard a voice calling me. It must be Claude. I begin to run, that way I would avoid seeing his face. Why would he make the situation worse?

Minutes passed by, and soon, I had arrived at Dani's house. The talk is going to be serious, because she was sitting outside with a packet of root beers.

“Hey, what did you want to talk about?", I asked, sitting down next to her and pull her into an embrace.

She looks up from the sand surface, drifting her eyes to the unusually calm sea.

“I wanted to talk about Claude. He is cheating on you with a girl from his group and lied about something consisting of money-" She said, staring at me with concern. "Have you been crying?"

I nodded and she passed me a root beer. “I am, and I am basically done with him. He told one simple lie to this guy who came to my house and hurt my grandma. She doesn't have a chance of living." I muttered, as I took a swig from my root beer. Dani sighed heavily, also gulping down the root beer.

"Then, he hides this big secret of an affair from me? I am done. He is going to expect nothing but hatred from me, from now on. I should have never trusted him", I exclaimed, leaning forward and leaning my ching against the palm of my hand. By now, Dani is shaking her head, her face contorted into a glum look. We sat there in silence, drinking our root beers.

Tremendous amount of time has passed, and the sun was setting. All of a sudden, a figure came running in our direction. It was Claude. Once he reached me, he started saying, “I am so sorry. I didn't mean to-"

I slapped him in his face with so much force, his side of the face was red.

“Our relationship is over."
