CHAPTER FIVE

After the fears close encounter with Mercyl and Marijosh, the three boys decided to get their things ready and move out of that place. The whole night or in fact day was a total nightmare for all three of them. Namjoon who was worried for the two boys suggested they start walking but Jungkook looking very tired asked if they could sleep the night seeing as he knew he wouldn’t be able to get far. The night went by very slowly as Taehyung decided to keep watch while Jungkook and Namjoon rested.

Taehyung POV
This day was the worst I’ve ever seen and to make matter even more worse Jungkook looks like he’s not going to last long. I just really hope the next day will be more calm, so we can get more clues to where Madelyn is and also solve this mystery quickly. The stress we are going through at this moment is probably going to be the death of us but still that voice we heard earlier sounds way too familiar but who does it belong to.

Namjoon POV
I can’t sleep, but I can’t show I’m awake otherwise Taehyung will see I’m getting worried and it looks as if they get even more stressed when I’m worried. I just really wish this mystery gets us some clues real fast otherwise we won’t be able to find Madelyn, and that’s just going to totally break Jungkook.

Taehyung POV
I can hear the breathing of Namjoon, he’s not sleeping he’s pretending. He is probably trying not to make us worry but this situation is getting out of hand.

Jungkook: I know you guys are awake..
(Taehyung turns around as well as Namjoon)
Namjoon: Jungkook I think you should try to get some sleep.
Jungkook: I can’t sleep..
Taehyung: We know you’re worried but you need to sleep..
Namjoon: Rest Jungkook so we can start searching for clues tomorrow.

Jungkook POV
I can see they’re trying to keep me calm but this whole situation where neither one of us has a solution is totally killing us. I wish Jin was here or Yoongi they would’ve worked well with Namjoon in figuring something out by now.

Taehyung POV
I’m still wondering  what they meant when they said ,they’ll get the other members instead. I get the feeling they were referring to the rest of our group...maybe..

Taehyung: Fine if you don’t want to sleep Jungkook, let’s try to figure out what they meant by getting the rest of the members..
Namjoon: I think they were referring to Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin and Jin..
Taehyung: I figured as much, but why would they want to hunt them when they knew we were inside this house.
Jungkook: Don’t know, maybe they....
Taehyung: They... They were quiet for a while...before....
Namjoon: MOVE GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE NOW!!!!

(The sound Jungkook remembers really well started getting louder outside)

Jungkook: Its the bombs they used for that huge building I was in..
Taehyung: Hurry Jungkook!!!!

Normal POV
Namjoon started running to the back door followed by Jungkook and Taehyung. They reach the door and Jungkook being the most afraid kicked open the door. Namjoon now leading the boys over a fence and headed to wherever their feet may lead them. The boys finally ran a good distance, when they saw black smoke in the sky and seeing it coming from the same spot they were a few minutes ago.

Namjoon POV
I can’t believe I wasn’t able to pick up on that, was I so scared and worried that I couldn’t notice that.

Taehyung POV
That was close but why couldn’t we hear that ticking noise and to make things worse Jungkook relived the same scene he had when he was trapped in that huge building.

Jungkook POV
I can’t believe they would make me relive that moment again, why... just why would they want me to die via a bomb, but for some reason that ticking sound, sounded different this time and there was no explosion just smoke, so just what were they trying to do..

Taehyung: I don’t understand. Why are there smoke but no explosion sound.
Jungkook: Maybe it was a little explosion or maybe we just overreacted..
Taehyung: Yeah could be..
Namjoon: No.. No.. They wanted us out of the house..
Taehyung: Do you mean...
Namjoon: Let’s move guys, I know of a place we can go.
Jungkook: Why didn’t you say about this place earlier..??
Namjoon: Because I’ve just gotten an SMS again, giving us directions to a place..
Taehyung: Can we trust it..
Namjoon: At this moment we have no choice..

Normal POV
Jungkook and Taehyung now looking at Namjoon not knowing what their moves may be seeing as it seems the more and more trouble they get into the more they get further away from the town. Namjoon noticing that whoever are chasing them doesn’t want them to be in town, but to his unknown knowledge he can’t seem to figure out why.
The three boys started walking to wherever this mysterious SMS told them to go, but fear still on their minds. Taehyung who’s walking at the back in order to make sure Jungkook is safe kept seeing Jungkook trying his best not to cry. Namjoon on the other hand trying to focus on where he’s going could still hear the sniffing Jungkook was giving even though it isn’t that loud.
After walking for what seemed like hours the three boys came to a stop as the directions on Namjoon's phone ends at a street that only has one house on it. Confused by what to do next they just stared at each other.

Namjoon: So what do we do next.??
Jungkook: I don’t know. What else does the SMS say..?
Namjoon: It just said.. “ Follow these directions”..
Taehyung: Maybe we should go to that house, seeing as it’s the only house in this part of town..
Namjoon: I did notice that, but that’s what scares me..
Unknown Girl: Seems you three made it..

(Shocked by the sudden voice behind them. The three boys stood still trying not to look behind them)

Namjoon: Who might you be?
Unknown Girl: Someone who’s trying to help you..
Jungkook: How can we be sure about that?
Unknown Girl: That’s the beauty of it, you can’t.!!
Taehyung: At least tell us your name..
Unknown Girl: You can call me Ion.
Namjoon: Okay Ion, tell us why you brought us here..??
Ion: Simple, you’re looking for Madelyn right..??

( The sudden name of Madelyn made Jungkook turn around without fear)

Jungkook: HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT NAME!! ... ANSWER ME NOW!!
Ion: You’re in no position to be ordering me around Jungkook..
Jungkook: JUST ANSWER ME!!!
Taehyung: Jungkook calm down..
Namjoon: Jungkook Calm down, before you draw attention..

( Jungkook calms down, and apologizes to Ion)

Ion: No problem, follow me..

Normal POV
This mysterious girl now known as Ion leads the three boys into her house. She unlocks her door but tells them to wait for her. Namjoon who’s confused as to why they have to wait outside looks at Jungkook and Taehyung, who by now is confused as well.
Ion takes a few minutes before she comes back and invites them inside. Taehyung being the first to go in looks around and sees loads of pictures but one catches his eyes as well as Namjoon's. The two boys who are now staring at a picture looks at Jungkook gesturing him to come and look as well, and to Jungkook’s surprise it’s a photo of Ion and Madelyn laughing together. The sudden memory of Madelyn immediately brings sadness inside Jungkook as he stares at the photo while shedding a tear. Taehyung who’s closest to him rubs his back as a sign of comfort.

Ion: That was when me and Madelyn was still in kindergarten.
Namjoon: So you and Madelyn are childhood friends.
Ion: Yes..
Taehyung: May I ask. Why did you send Namjoon messages??
Namjoon: (Looking at Taehyung, then back at Ion).. Yeah why..?
Ion: Jungkook please sit down..(showing Jungkook a place to sit down)..
Jungkook: Okay..
Ion: I’m about to tell you all why you’re in my house today, I have to hurry before they come..

[ Flashback ]

Ion POV
I’m starting my day at kindergarten today, I just hope I get to make new friends. The day is going to be long and I don’t know if my mom is going to take me since my day went to work in another country.

Normal POV
Ion started getting ready for her first day in kindergarten, but to her it’s a sad day seeing only her mother gets to take her since her father left them to work in another country. The morning finally arrived and Ion's mother called her to come down and eat her breakfast. Ion now finally finished getting dressed rushed downstairs to the kitchen where she ate her breakfast.

Ion: Thank You mom..
Ion's Mom: Now that you’re done, go wait outside.
Ion: Okay.

Normal POV
Ion now done eating grabbed her bag and headed outside where she waited for her mom to come and take her to school. After several minutes her mom finally arrived and locked the house doors before heading to the car.
Ion climbed inside the car and off they went. The drive was rather long seeing as the traffic was also rather busy. The police also showing the people to drive another way around since there seemed to be an accident ahead.

Ion: Mom why we going around.?
Ion's Mom: Because it seems there was an accident.

Ion POV
I’m so sad for whoever might’ve gotten hurt in that accident, I just hope it wasn’t someone who also had their first day in school or else this would’ve been a terrible day for them.

Normal POV
After several turns and stops they finally arrived at the entrance of the Kindergarten school. Ion who was the most excited amongst them, quickly climbed out the car and headed towards the front door of the school. The now excited Ion couldn’t wait to get her day started and accidentally bumped into a little girl.

Ion: I’m sorry..
Girl: It’s okay..
Ion: Hi.. I’m Ion.
Girl: Hello my name is Madelyn.
Ion: Nice to meet you Madelyn.
Madelyn: Nice to meet you Ion.

Normal POV
Ion who bumped into a girl who is now known as Madelyn quickly apologized to each other and looked to be getting along quite well. The two girls went on ahead and was quite happy when they found out the are in the same class. Madelyn who was brought into class by her father, who had to hurry back to make it in time for his work quickly kissed her and went away.
Ion watched this and realized Madelyn’s sadness when her dad said he had to go away, she had a sad expression on her face. Ion knowing how it feels when a father says goodbye, and knowing they might never come back again suddenly makes her sad as well.

Ion: May I ask you something Madelyn?
Madelyn: Yes..
Ion: Where is your mom.?
Madelyn: Oh I’ve never met my mom..

(Ion shocked and sad about hearing this suddenly makes her think about her father)
Ion: Oh.. I’m sorry to hear that.
Madelyn: It’s okay.

Ion POV
Madelyn has a bright smile but I can see the sadness behind it, seeing as I have the same feeling. I have to try and make her feel happy and not the pretend happy I’m referring to the actual happy, but how do I do that when I’m pretending to be happy as well.

Madelyn POV
Is it just my imagination or is Ion exactly the same as me. We both pretending to be happy in order not to show what we actual feel inside. I have to try and do something, something that can benefit for the both of us, but what..

Normal POV
Ion and Madelyn decided to become friends and try and make each other happy. Madelyn suggested they sit together but according to the teacher who looks rather strict , no friends are allowed to sit next to each other. Ion saddened by this looks at Madelyn who also has a glimpse of sadness, couldn’t do anything about this except to just accept what the teacher told them to do.
The day went by rather slow seeing as this was their first day and all they had to do was introduce themselves as well as to draw what they felt inside. Ion staring at Madelyn who instead of drawing something wrote down a few words.
One hour went by when the bell finally rang for lunch. Madelyn and Ion ran out quickly to find a nice quiet spot to enjoy their lunch. Madelyn spotting a spot under the tree signals Ion to follow her. The two finally decided to sit down and take out their lunch but something is still troubling Ion.

Ion: Madelyn..
Madelyn: Yes..
Ion: Earlier when teacher asked us to draw something. Why didn’t you draw a picture, instead you wrote down words?
Madelyn: Because its something my dad told me, my mom used to do..
Ion: What does it mean?
Madelyn: Ion I want you to always be my friend..
Ion: (shocked by this).. Madelyn you’re starting to scare me...
Madelyn: I’m going to tell you my secret but promise me you’ll never tell anyone as well as never forget it.
Ion: I promise..

Ion POV
Madelyn sounds so serious as if her life might be in danger. I just don’t know what to do, because she looks rather scared.

Madelyn: There are people after my dad, and my dad told me the reason I’ve never met my mom is because the people were after him killed her on the same day I was born.
Ion: I’m sorry to hear that..( starts shedding tears)
Madelyn: So the people are still after my dad, but instead of hunting him they are targeting me now. If you look across the street you’ll see some men looking at us right now.

Normal POV
Ion looks across the street and sees a white car who seems to have tinted windows. Ion not knowing what to make of this situation looks at Madelyn as if saying “ I’m here for you”. Madelyn seeing the look Ion is giving her finally gains some confidence and continues to tell Ion, the rest of the story.

Madelyn: Now that you know of that I’m going to explain to you why I wrote those words down.
Ion: Okay, I’m all ears..
Madelyn: The  words I  wrote down, is almost like a poem. Which each sentence leads to a specific place.
Ion: Is it like a secret message..?
Madelyn: Exactly. Now my mom told my dad to try and gather all those clues and he’ll find something, but my dad was never able to locate the other parts.
Ion: So what does all these have to do with the men who are following you.
Madelyn: Seems it hides a secret they don’t want others to know..
Ion: But I’m still confused. If you’re mom is the one with the words, why do they come after your dad.
Madelyn: Because he also has a part which leads to a location.
Ion: So you’re saying when all these words come together...
Madelyn: It will lead to an hideout... Or something like that.

Normal POV
Madelyn and Ion who now seems to try and get all these figured out are suddenly interrupted by a few very attractive young girls. Ion looks up and could see these girls are interested by what is happening here.

Girl#1: Hi my name is Hanbyeol can we be friends..
Girl#2: Hi my name is Beth..
Girl#3: I’m Sarach, nice to meet you..
Girl#4: I’m Hanna. Hello.

Normal POV
The girls introduce themselves but seems the rest are too shy to tell what their names are. Madelyn and Ion look at each other and just smiles at how easy they made friends. Madelyn looks at Ion and could see Ion knew exactly what Madelyn wanted to do.

Madelyn: Since we’re all friends here.. I could trust you all with something..
Hanbyeol: I don’t break the trust of a friend..
Hanna: Me neither..
Sarach: Count me in..

(Madelyn looks at Ion who just nods yes)

Normal POV
Madelyn now looking at all the girls standing in front of her, just starts smiling and could see the happy face Ion had too, and at that very moment they knew they had friends who they could trust. Madelyn starts telling them all the secret.

[FLASHBACK END]

Namjoon POV
Seems Madelyn knew she would be kidnapped soon, and started trusting the people with her secret.

Taehyung POV
So Hanna, Sarach and Hanbyeol was friends with Madelyn and they trusted the secret with me. I didn’t know that. So in all ,those girls were trying to protect me and sacrificed..(drops a few tears)..their lives to save me so I can be here for Jungkook.

Jungkook: So Madelyn knew she was going to be captured soon enough..
Ion: Yes, so the clues you have so far.. May lead you to a specific place.. But..
Taehyung: But.. What??
Ion: If they already know about what you are trying to do... They’ll be prepared to kill you..
Jungkook: I’m prepared to die, if it means I get to see her again..
Taehyung: I’m here today because Hanbyeol and Sarach as well as Hanna sacrificed their lives so I can be here for Jungkook. So I’m prepared to die as well..
Namjoon: Well as the leader of this group, I’ll help these boys out..
Ion: Good but beware of one specific detail.
Jungkook: What might that be.???
Ion: The head boss.. Is someone who Madelyn knows very well..
Taehyung:.........
Namjoon:..........

Namjoon POV
So Madelyn was kidnapped by someone she trust. Just who could do something like that to a friend.

Taehyung POV
The voice sounded familiar but now it makes all sense.. The person we’re looking for we already met.. But still the big question is who..

Jungkook: We better hurry before they find this location..
Taehyung: Yes.. Let’s go!.
Namjoon: Thanks again Ion..
Ion: Be careful on your quest boys..
Normal POV
Taehyung and Jungkook hurries to head out to the back door while Namjoon stays with Ion for a while. Ion surprised by Namjoon staying behind , while the other two are busy trying to get away from this specific location.
Ion: You better hurr...

(Ion couldn’t finish her sentence as Namjoon moves forward and gave her a kiss).

Namjoon: Thanks for always helping me out via an SMS..
Ion: (blushing)... No problem..
Namjoon: Bye..
Ion: Bye..

Normal POV
Taehyung and Jungkook looking back as to where Namjoon might be, but sees him coming from a distance and decided to run as well. The three boys still running as trying to get a good distance but something triggers Jungkook as he stops, followed by Namjoon and Taehyung.

Jungkook: Where are we supposed to go..

Normal POV
Taehyung who couldn’t hold it anymore starts laughing, followed by Namjoon. Jungkook seeing as they were in such a hurry they didn’t ask Ion where exactly they were supposed to go. The boys figuring it would be best to go back and ask Ion. Namjoon leads the boys back to Ion's place comes to closing distance of the house before..

BOOOOOOOM!!!!( The house of Ion explodes)..

Normal POV
The boys still surprised by what happened , couldn’t move from their spot..

PING!!! PING!!!..( Namjoon answers his phone)

Namjoon: Hello..
Unknown Caller: If you want to see her again, you better surrender..

(Namjoon looks at Jungkook and Taehyung and puts the phone on speaker)
Unknown Caller: You have 1 hour to give up this silly quest, or Hanbyeol, Sarach, Hanna and Ion dies..
(Call Ends)
