The sun shone through the gap between my curtains. The light landing on my eyelids which stirred me round. I squinted as I peeled my eyes open, before pushing myself up into a seated position. I lift my arms above my head to stretch.
'Another day in hell.' I thought to myself as I whipped the sheets off me and marched off to get dressed. This time I was quicker. I rushed around to wash and dress myself. I'd also decided I'd leave my hair down today, not wanting Hoseok to grab my ponytail again. I slung the backpack over my shoulder and rushed downstairs.
"Don't you want me to make breakfast, Y/N?" Mum asked as I passed her. I looked back and combed a piece of hair behind my ear.
"No, I'm fine. I still have the breakfast bar you packed yesterday." I replied before showing a warm smile.
"Anyway, I'm off. Bye!" I called giving a small wave before marching out the front door.
(ノ^o^)ノ
I reached the woods. Chills crawled up my spine as I recalled what happened yesterday. I looked up from the Earth below me and saw Hoseok walking towards the school gate.
'What's with him? Isn't he going to beat me today?' I thought as I walked onwards. I wanted to ask but that would only end in a punch to the face.
//Hoseok's POV//
I felt the presence of another person. Their existence burning into my back, forcing me to look over my shoulder. Y/N?
"Aish!" I yelled in shock being startled to see her at this time. My face burned out of embarrassment but I quickly calmed myself down.
"Hehe, did I really scare you?" She asked cocking her head to one side before bursting into laughter. Although true, I scoffed at her suggestion and rolled my eyes.
"As if," I replied before narrowing my eyes, "What have you got today?" I asked immediately catching her off guard. Her laughter is cut off and she licks her lips uneasily.
"Well... nothing except books and a breakfast bar." She replied making me groan in annoyance.
"Man, you just don't think do you?" I said stepping closer, my eyes never failing to leave hers, "I beat you everyday, and yet you never bring what I want!" I snarled raising my fist to hit her. She cowers before me but something is telling me to stop. I sighed through my gritted teeth and lowered my fist.
Why am I feeling like this? Maybe it's because I lost that gift.
I couldn't just let her get away with scaring me. I raised my leg and kicked her back onto the ground. Normally I'd beat her, but not today.
I stared down at her for a few seconds before turning on my heel and walking off. My fingers running through my hair in frustration. Why didn't I hit her? No, I'm just upset I lost my gift... I'll be fine when I find it.
"Aish." I heard her growl under her breath. Her distress made me want to look back, but I held myself back. I wouldn't look back just because of some little girl. She doesn't deserve my pity.
// Y/N POV //
'Who does he think he is?' I thought as I pushed myself up off the ground and dusted down my skirt. I stared after Hoseok as he marched off, still clueless as to why he hadn't beat me. Nevertheless, that kick still hurt.

I reach my class and take my seat in the middle as usual. I nearly position my books on the desk and then I wince as my chest aches. My hand gently rubs my chest and I try to ease the pain Hoseok had caused.
// Hoseok's POV //
I walk into class, my eyes immediately landing on y/n. I notice her rubbing her chest from where I'd hit her. My heart drops, as if a ton of weights had been hung on me. I watched as she squeezed her eyes shut before looking up at me. I quickly avert my gaze and walk over to my seat in front of hers.
'Did she see me staring?' I wondered as I stared down at my empty desk.

School was over and I was home, Completely exhausted. I pulled off my clothes, too lazy to change into pyjamas. I crawl into bed and slowly drift to sleep.

I'm dreaming again. This time, I'm inside a holiday home, in my bedroom writing in my notebook. Shouting and yelling came from outside. My head snaps up and I stare out the window.
"What the- it's 11pm," I whisper to myself, "Dad! What's going on?" I shout spotting him outside my window. I dash across the room and rip the curtain wide. My eyes widened at the sight of my dad being attacked by some guy.
"Dad!!!" I scream as I banged my fist against the window. The stranger pulled a cloth to his mouth. Shouting was pointless. He was dead.
I focused on the face of the killer. His pupils had dilated making his iris purely black. He had a weird twitch, almost like he was insane, which no doubt he was. The way he acted was abnormal, this wasn't a man, this was a monster.
My dad got up off the floor and I found myself speechless as he turned around. His eyes were just like the others, completely black. They had changed him.
I start banging on the window for my dad. Instead, the man and my dad stared at me in a way I'd never seen before. They looked at me like I was their prey.
Panic flooded my thoughts as they ran towards the house. I ran across the landing and downstairs. I needed to escape. I cut through the back and hop into my dads car. Then I drive without looking back, only allowing tears to fall when I'd reached a safe distance.
'But I want you Dad. I need you Dad. Daddy, come back' The words were on loop in my mind as I drove.
I wake up covered in sweat. I'm breathing as fast as my heart raced.
I realised it wasn't a dream,It was a memory.
