"You look amazing," I assured my best friend as I finished putting hair potion in her curls to make her hairdo set. It was the night of the Yule ball and we were getting ready in our dormitories. I could still hear the boys having a snowball fight outside.

"Thanks," she smiled. "OK, go get changed, let's start on you," she eyed that fact that I was still in leggings and a Gryffindor jumper.

I pulled out my trunk and unboxed the beautiful blue dress robes that Mrs Weasley bought me. Taking the dress into the bathroom, I got changed into the gown and pulled my hair out of its ponytail.

"You look stunning already! Cedric is going to fall head over heels," teased Hermione, examining my dress. It was a floor-length, pale blue, strapless dress with a sparkly floral design decorating the top and a slit running down the bottom.

I smiled and sat down on the chair in front of the mirror.

"Remember, not too much make up," I told my best friend.

"Yeah, yeah, don't worry," said Hermione as she applied some kind of cream to my face. She applied foundation and then started on my eyes, first doing a simple eyeliner, then she did light eyeshadow with a smoky effect. She applied some mascara and a light shade of lip gloss that hardly showed, thankfully, and then began my hair.

"Now for the hard part," she sighed, brushing the tangles out of my hair. She experimented with my hair for a while, then finally settled on doing a messy bun that looked a bit like roses.

"Thanks, Hermione," I smiled as she finished the look by pinning flowers into my hair.

We stood and examined ourselves in the floor-length mirror, pulling on accessories and shoes, then we walked out of the dorm preparing for our grand entrance.

On the way to the Great Hall I spotted Hermione looking really tense.

"Hey, let's make this one count," I gripped her arm. She smiled and nodded and we entered the Great Hall.

Walking slowly down the steps, I made sure not to trip over my silver heels and fall down the long flights of stairs as I glanced around the hall.

The first person I saw was Harry, whose jaw literally dropped as he gave us a shy smile.

At the foot of the stairs were Cedric and Viktor, standing with their arms outstretched,  looking proud. Cedric gave me a wide smile as I placed my hand on his. I looked one last time at my friends amd caught Harry giving me a cold stare.

What's his deal?

"You look beautiful," Cedric snapped me out of my daze.

"Thanks," I blushed, as he gently reached his hand up and tucked stray piece of hair behind my ear.

"Ah, Mr. Diggory and Miss. Waters, you may proceed to the doors. As can you,  Mr. Krum and Miss. Granger," Mcgonagall appeared and ushered the four of us to the Great Hall doors. We lined up outside as Harry appeared with Cho Chang. She was wearing a silver gown, her long black hair held up in a neat bun, and was laughing at something Harry said.

"Mr. Potter, Miss. Chang, the line if you would,"

"Yes, Professor," smiled Harry, walking towards us. He spotted me, yet completely blanked me.

"Where's Ron?" I tried to break the ice.

"He's in the Hall with Parvati," Harry mumbled.

"Parvati?" How come I missed this?

"You were in the Library," explained Hermione.

We were soon joined by Fleur and her partner as the Great Hall doors opened.
