"Are you sure I should be coming, Professor..." I trailed off, following after Moody as he dragged me into the maze with him. He was placing the triwizard cup in the centre, and commanded me to come along so that I could help Harry.
"I should be gettibg back to Ha-"
"-Potter will last 10 minutes without you," Professor Moody growled. "I want to make sure he doesn't get killed. This is unfair to him, so I'm ensuring he knows what he's doing."
"Yes, but this is outright cheating," I muttered as I fought my way through the overgrown hedges.
"So be it."
After a long walk through eery passages that would give me nightmares for the next 5 weeks, we finally entered the middle of the maze. At the centre was a sort of podium where Moody placed the triwizard cup.
"You know where the cup is, don't ya Waters?" He tested. I nodded my head frantically, stepping back from his unreasonable wrath.
"Good, but you're not coming out again," his expression turned into a sneer as he raised his wand.
"What?" I replied blankly, but then realisation dawned me.
"This was a trap!" I cried as the hedges began to grow closed. "Why?" I demanded Moody, but he only smirked in return. Staring at me, he suddenly twitched and took out his hip-flask, taking a long sip.
Weird...
He smiled at me, then climbed under the hedges as the last plant grew into place, sealing me away from the world.
"No!" I screamed, tears forming in my eyes, more out of anger than sorrow. I brushed them away furiously and sank to the floor.
Why would he do this to me??? I thought, maddeningly yanking my hair. I bit down on my lip hard, until I could taste the blood, then stood up and pulled my wand out.
"Diffindo!" I tried in anguish, attempting to break free.
"Reducto!" I yelled again, but the vines didn't even move. Groaning, I sat down and waited for the 3rd task to begin and someone to come and find me.
***
Hours of pure boredom passed until I heard the faraway sounds of people and music. My mood brightening, I stood up and put my ear against the hedges, and could make out the faint sounds of the judges announcing the champions.
As Harry's name was called, I prayed silently for him to be ok, and come out of this alive. Hopefully even find and rescue me, for I had worked out that people could enter into the triwizard cup area, but I couldn't exit. Once someone comes in though, I hoped that the hedges would open up again.
I rested my head against the walls, willing myself to stay awake, but sleep controlled me and I shut my eyes...
I woke up to the sreams of a voice, which I recognised as Fleur's immediately. But the problem was, after my sleep, I couldn't remember about Moody trapping me there, only being stuck there. Confused, I looked around, and noticed that the Hedge had mysteriously opened in my sleep. Seizing the opportunity, I crawled through the gap and rushed to help my friends.
I tracked the yells down until I was face to face with Cedric, who's eyes were red, as if possessed.
"Woah, Ced," I breathed, stepping back. I let out a muffled scream as he pointed his wand at me, making me step into some magical vines, that immediately tripped me over and sucked me into the hedge.
"Ced, help!" I pleaded, but the boy was clearly out of his mind as he shot me a smirk and walked away. I gradually moved into the hedge, writhing and screaming, until a male voice came from my left.
