I look at the clock to see that I have an hour left to get ready. I get up and get dressed into the clothes I had picked out. I looked in the mirror to see if I was ready, but then decided I needed some jewelry so I put some on and put on some lipstick and eye make-up. I brush my hair and put it into a side braid.
I continue staring into the mirror at my outfit, second guessing if I should wear a shirt that doesn't show a sliver of my stomach. I wonder if it's anyone I know. Amy had only met me and Jack, and obviously Mark. She doesn't go to the same school as us, since she goes to a school somewhere else in L.A. She also has a car and license. Mark and I have our license, just not a car.
HONK HONK!
I blink before I lean over and grab my small leather purse along with my phone. I walk out to see Mark dressed in some black jeans, black shoes, a black shirt with a black and red flannel on. His red hair all fluffed and ready to go.
"Looking nice Tori," he said with a smile.
"Right back at ya," I said.
"So do you know who my blind date is?" I ask Mark.
"Nope, but she did say that he goes to our school, and that they used to be friends when they lived in the UK but Amy moved here and they kinda forgot about each other," Mark says with a shrug. I nod as we made our to the door. Mark opens the door and lets me through first because he's nice. I see Amy sitting in the car, but I couldn't see the other person. Mark got in the front seat while I got in the back seat.
"Tori?" a familiar voice asked. I turn to find Dan sitting in the backseat with me.
"Dan?" I ask.
"You know each other?" Amy asks.
"Yeah, we're friends, her, Phil and I went Prom shopping remember?" Dan said.
"Oh, so she's the Tori you were talking about," Amy said as her face reddens.
"Yeah," Dan said and Mark laughed.
"So, how are you Dan?" I ask as Mark and Amy started having their own conversation up front as Amy started driving to where ever we were going.
"I've been good, Phil seems to love it here," Dan said.
"Yeah, this place is nice, if you get rid of all the bullies," I said with a shrug.
"True," Dan said. We sit in silence, only noise coming from Mark and Amy talking quietly up front as the street lights flicker on, the sun slowly descending behind the city buildings.
"Wait, where are we going exactly?" I ask Amy as she turns this way and that through the traffic.
"This food place that looks like a jungle inside the building, trust me it is great," Amy said.
"Okay," I said before I turn my head to look out the window once again. I watched as the large buildings flew past, until this normal sized diner building with trees around it came into view. Amy slowed and drove into the parking lot.
"Oh, and if you get bored while waiting for your food or for the bill you two can go to the arcade, Mark and I played them all many times so we're slightly bored of playing them," Amy said as she parked. I open the door and hop out. I look up only to find Dan pouting because I opened the door myself, making me give off a loud laugh. Me and Dan followed Mark and Amy. As we walked I noticed there were a couple of guys probably around our age looking at Amy and I. Nervous from everyone watching us I scoot closer to Dan. He seemed to notice my uneasiness, so he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I look over at him and give him a small smile before looking forward.
We get to our seats, and indeed the place did make it look like they were in a jungle. Soon a waiter came and got our order. The date went normal, except me and Dan talked with each other and didn't think of it as a date much since we were friends.
-Time Skip-
I step out of the car with Mark. Dan stayed in the car, but Amy got out so they could say bye to Mark.
"Well, I'll see you later Dan, bye Amy, thanks for the invite," I said before I make my way into the house. I find Jack curled up on the couch, the TV playing the end credits of Avengers. He must've fallen asleep. I walk over, putting my phone and purse down on the coffee table before turning to Jack. I stop when I notice that his eyes were puffy and looked like they had dried tears on them. Must've been an emotional movie before the Avengers or something. I grab the couches blanket and put it over him.
I turn off the TV before I grab my stuff and walk towards my room, taking a quick glance back at Jack with slight worry. I walk into my room and close the door behind me. I put my stuff on my desk before I change into a pair of pajamas, consisting of a giant black and white t-shirt with a pair of pajama pants that are black with baymax prints all over them. I climb into the bed and lay there, the image of Jacks tears stained face stuck in the back of my mind as I slowly let sleep take over me.
